This past weekend, I experimented with a few new rice crispy treat tastes. Of course, I had to try a peanut butter and chocolate variation. I love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate, and they worked perfectly with the crispy rice cereal bars.
These Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats are easy to make and so tasty! They have all of the flavor of a peanut butter cup in everyone’s favorite easy treat; a rice krispie square! You can have dessert or an afternoon snack ready in a matter of moments with this recipe!
Seriously, I am absolutely hooked on rice crispy treats. My newest obsession is creating new rice crispy flavor varieties. They are yummy, totally easy, and quick to whip up a big batch. (And, as a mom to five kids, I also appreciate that they are not messy!)

More Rice Krispie Recipes:
- 3 T Butter
- 32 Regular Marshmallows (or 3 cups of mini marshmallows)
- 2-4 T Creamy Peanut Butter
- 3 Cups Crispy Rice Cereal
- 4 oz. Melting Chocolate
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add marshmallows and melt, stirring constantly
- Once fully melted and combined, remove from the heat and add peanut butter. Stir until combined.
- Add rice cereal and stir gently until combined.
- Press rice crispy treats into a lightly buttered 9x13 baking dish (waxed paper can help keep your hands from getting too sticky)
- Melt Chocolate (I use the microwave, just be careful not to burn it) and pour over the top.
- Let cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
Store these peanut butter cup rice crispy treats in an airtight container.
