On an old episode of the #LearntoBlog series that Crystal and Company and I do each Tuesday at 10 am Central, we talked about promoting old posts, bringing new content to readers, and thanking the people that send you traffic. We both used to do it once a month, but I have a new system where I check things weekly now to help me plan for the next week.
So, I am going to start a new series of posts on Saturday mornings here at 3 Boys and a Dog that showcase some of my tops for the week! I am not doing a linky yet, but if you want to play the game with me, please leave me a comment below. If this series is popular enough, I will turn it into a linky and we can all play!
Top Five Posts of the Week
Looking into my analytics, I want to see what posts were the most popular. This helps me to determine if there are other posts I can interlink into these posts to increase my page views. It helps me to determine if I should be writing more about those topics, etc.
3. Recipe: Easy Peanut Butter Cookies
Top Five Keywords of the Week
It is always nice to know what terms you are already getting traffic for and to capitalize on those keywords to get even more traffic. This is an analysis that I typically do each month, but things can change drastically from month to month. So, doing it weekly should give me a better understanding of my traffic and my readership.
1. does the tummy tuck belt really work
2. tummy tuck belt reviews
3. jungle rangers review
4. jungle rangers
5. 3 boys and a dog
Well, that is boring! Guess I need to work a bit harder on this site’s traffic, huh? Well, I pulled a good portion of my great search traffic gathering posts from this site and put them into the deals site and the cooking site. Since I am making changes to combine everything, I will be able to work a bit harder on this.
Top Five Pinterest Pins of the Week
I like to know which pins are sending me traffic, it helps to understand who is pinning my stuff so I can try to build relationships with them. It also helps me to understand what posts do best on Pinterest and it helps me to see the trend. Are the same posts being popular week after week? If so, how can I capitalize on that?
1. Easy Peanut Butter Cookies – pinned by Me!
2. The Pros and Cons of Natural Childbirth
4. Creative Clothes Shopping fro Back to School – pinned by ME!
5. 8 Family Picture Ideas – pinned by ME!
OK, so the good news about this is that my pinterest followers like my pins. The bad thing is that I only have 2 new connections to make this week on Pinterest.
