The combination of Chex mix and white chocolate is the key to this simple dessert’s success. Mixing all the flavors separately in a large bowl and being patient while it rests is probably the hardest part! Then you get to combine them all for that fun flavor and taste!

Be careful when you stir to coat as you don’t want to break up the cereal!

Neapolitan Puppy Chow Recipe

There’s literally nothing hard about making this simple coated cereal, chocolate chips, and powdered sugar recipe. In fact, it’s one that I could probably make with my eyes closed. Just grab some extra Rice Chex cereal from the store and add it to a large bowl. Make certain that you have a microwave-safe bowl, too.

Since my boys love puppy chow, we’re used to making this recipe all the time. I can’t complain though – because I’m obsessed and I love it, too!

You don’t! As long as you keep it in an air tight container, you can keep it on the counter for all to enjoy.

You can! As long as you store it in a freeze ziplock bag, you can easily freeze a batch of this to enjoy at a later point in time. You can even get smaller freezer bags and measure out in 1/2 cups to help with portion control, too.

Neapolitan Puppy Chow Recipe

You're going to love the taste of this Flavorful Neapolitan Puppy Chow Recipe!

Ingredients

Vanilla Puppy Chow Ingredients

  • 1 vanilla bean, cut into small pieces (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of confectioner's sugar
  • 1 cup of white chocolate melts or white
  • candy chips
  • 3 cups of Chex cereal, any type

Strawberry Puppy Chow Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of confectioner's sugar
  • 1 cup of freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 cup of pink candy melts
  • 3 cups of Chex cereal, any type

Chocolate Puppy Chow Ingredients

  • 1 pack of hot cocoa mix
  • 1/2 cup of confectioner's sugar
  • 1 cup of chocolate melts or chocolate chips
  • 3 cups of Chex cereal, any type

Instructions

Start by lining 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.

To Make the Vanilla Puppy Chow:

If you decide to use the vanilla bean, combine that and the sugar in a food processor till ground. Sift out any large pieces of the vanilla bean and pour the mixture into a ziplock bag.

Take the white chocolate and add to a large heatproof bowl and melt over barely simmering water. Make certain that you're stirring all the time.

Remove once melted and add in the Chex cereal and fold. Coat well.

Once coated, put the mixture into the ziplock bag, close, and shake.

Spread out on the baking sheet once done.

To Make the Strawberry Puppy Chow:


Put the sugar into a ziplock bag. Add the strawberries into the food processor and grind to a powder. Add the powder to the sugar and mix.

Melt the pink candy in a large heatproof bowl and melt over barely simmering water. Make certain that you're stirring all the time.

Remove once melted and add in the Chex cereal and fold. Coat well.

Spread out on the baking sheet once done.

To Make the Chocolate Puppy Chow:


Put the hot cocoa mix and sugar into a ziplock bag and mix.

Melt the chocolate in a large heatproof bowl and melt over barely simmering water. Make certain that you're stirring all the time.

Remove once melted and add in the Chex cereal and fold. Coat well.

Spread out on the baking sheet once done.

It's time to combine all the mixes into one large bowl. Store in an airtight container once done.
