This month, I will be tackling some Spring Cleaning articles, helpers, printables, and products! Plus, I will be spending some time getting my house re-cleaned up. I am also hoping to makeover my office!
My boys have gotten to the age where they almost never use the playroom anymore and I am hoping to take over more of it for my office area and make the other a sitting area for them to watch television. I have been in touch with a company about helping me with a before and after series for the office portion, but they are a pretty small company so I don’t know if their budget can handle it. I might be doing it totally on my own. If I do, obviously, very little blogging will be done about it, but I will show a before and after – just for you. Over the next week or so, I will be reaching out to a few companies to see if they want their products featured in the series AND I will be building a pinterest board about it. Actually, I already started one here: Office Makeover
Anyway, my office is HORRIBLE! It isn’t ergonomically correct, my chair is uncomfortable, the walls are solid white without one single thing hanging on them, one window doesn’t have coverings! That is just part of it. My boys have pulled things out of places and then just shoved it all back in. Some of my plastic organizers are broken or jam-packed… it is bad! I know better, I can do better, I must make the time. I spend 8 hours or more every single day sitting in this chair in this dull, stressful room and it is time to make it mine!
So, I spent some time wandering around Walmart the other day and have a feel of what I want in my office. I do have to actually find all of the things that are floating in my head, but here are the colors I want to go with:
The inspiration for colors is Hot Chocolate by Carolina Pad. I just love it and think it would be fabulous colors in my office. I can also use some of the hot chocolate supplies to help get me organized!
The Glidden paint color chips that I got to match are:
- Leather Brown
- Pumpkin Patch
- Regal Purple
- Sugared Plum
- Warm Grey Flannel
Now, I have to decide how to do it – LOL! I know that I want this desk from Walmart and may need to paint it if it isn’t dark enough to suit my needs. Do you think I could paint a desk? I would think that if I painted it before putting it together, it should do just fine. What do you think?
I have a filing cabinet and I would like to paint it to match. I also want to paint the little white cabinets that I already have.
I love all of the organizational desk accessories at See Jane Work and could go with the purple and orange colors to brighten my desk and other furniture.
Now, who would like to follow me on my journey from this to fabulous?
I think this would be a great advertising campaign for the above mentioned companies, don’t you? Seriously, I wonder if I could redo my entire office: paint it, new desk, organize it, etc for less than $1,000. Could I do it for less than $500?
Hmmm… guess there is only one way to find out! Keep your eyes peeled to this space and #OfficeRedo hashtag to see if Glidden, Walmart, Carolina Pad, and See Jane Work (or other, non-mentioned companies) are interested in playing Office Redo with 3 Boys and a Dog!

My office desk is piled high also. I’m interested in seeing the transformation.

i redid my office last winter. why not try a thrift store for the desk. you cant beat $25 then you can paint it and repaint it how many colors you want! I stink at painting, so I mod podged sheet music onto my desk and covered the bottom (storage and wires) with a “skirt”.
good luck so fun!

I just redid. You office in January and February. It cost me about $800. I got the big pieces from Ikea, my color theme is light brown paint, with all the accessories and furniture being dark brown. I also have accents of green, but I still need more to add color.

We don’t have an IKEA anywhere near us 🙁 I have never even been in an IKEA store. Sad, huh?
