Homeschool for Toddlers

Sharing is caring!

It is that time again, school is going to be back in full swing for many children over the next few weeks. Every store has lined the isles with the latest deals on school supplies. Home-school moms are already planning what their first lessons will be. Social Studies, English, math, even art has a lesson, but wait what will they do with their toddler? Is there homeschool for toddlers too? After all, toddlers want to learn too and we all know if they are “bored” they will occupy themselves.

Toddlers are just the right age that they are happy to study anything and everything. Toddlers can build their hand-eye coordination along with improving comprehension skills.

I have included some ideas of activities that will not only grab the attention of a toddler but they will also be learning. A two year old can have fun while learning to match shapes, trace numbers or letters, or learning colors.

Touch

Toddlers love exploring and finding out about new textures and how object feel. A poster board with pieces of different texture items is an easy activity to make for your toddler.

Emotions

Toddlers are at the age that they have to learn how to deal with their feelings. Pictures out of magazines and pockets on the wall will keep toddlers occupied while older children work with mom on a lesson.

Colors

Every toddler is happy to learn their colors an activity to help them  learn colors and coordination by putting the correct color popsicle stick in the right color tube.

Puzzles

Puzzles are a favorite of many parents and a way to allow older children to practice their art skills while making something special for their younger sibling is to use popsicle sticks to paint the picture on.

Painting

Painting in a favorite of most toddlers. What is painting without the mess? A longer play time for the child. Here the paints are frozen with a popsicle stick to hold them.
