Sharing is caring!

Why are girls so much more fun to buy for?  At this age they want so many fun things from big girl stuff like makeup, jewelry, and clothes to little girl stuff like toys!

Webkinz by Ganz

Webkinz ChihuahuaWebkinz plush pets come alive through digital interaction.  Each toy comes with a Secret Code that lets you virtually adopt your pet in Webkinz World.  Pick out your pet’s gender and name and then get started by decorating their room, buying them clothes and feeding him their favorite treats!

Mom Says: A million years ago when I was a teenager, we had those little electronic pets that you carried around on your keychain.  Remember those things with your little pixel pets?  These Webkinz are so much cooler!  You get a little stuffed animal (and what girl doesn’t love those??) to carry around with you, yet when you get to a computer you can play with your animal in it’s virtual world.  So cool!

About “Twas the Day Before Zoo Day”

This delightful adaptation of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’, shares zoo keeper and animal preparations for the upcoming “Zoo Day.” But things arent going according to plan . . . The llamas won’t quit spitting, the giraffes are drooling, and the zebras aren’t happy at all with their stripes. Meanwhile, the zoo keepers are scurrying this way and that, cleaning up poop, ringing mealtime bells, and trying to get the animals bathed. Will “Zoo Day” go off without a hitch?

About “The Giraffe Who Was Afraid of Heights

Imagine if the one thing that keeps you safe is what you fear the most. This enchanting story tells of a giraffe who suffers from the fear of heights. His parents worry about his safety and send him to the village doctor for treatment. Along the way he befriends a monkey who is afraid of climbing trees and a hippo who is afraid of water. A life-threatening event causes the three friends to face and overcome each of their fears. The “For Creative Minds” section includes fun facts and animal adaptation information, a match-the-feet game and a mix-n-match activity.

Mom Says:  Oh what sweet stories from Sylvan Dell Publishing, but is that really any shock?  The “Day before Zoo Day”  was so funny that Tank and I laughed and laughed.  This one has very quickly become his go-to story for night time!

Animal Tales

Features delightful tellings of Aesop’s Fables, plus lively tales from Grimm, Chaucer and others.  The perfect recording when a child is ready to move beyond listening to music to spoken word.

About Jim Weiss:

JIM WEISS has been a storyteller for over 25 years. In June, 1989, Jim decided to do something more with the craft that he had formerly practiced solely for pleasure. Jim’s Greathall line is the recipient of more than 100 major national awards from The American Library Association, Parents’ Choice Foundation, NAPPA, the Parents’ Council, The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, The Film Advisory Board, Parents’ Guide to Children’s Media Award and more. Weiss’ newest releases are “Julius Caesar and the Story of Rome” and “Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.”

Mom Says:  I mean, really, what else can I say that I haven’t already said in the past few gift guides?  True Classic stories read in a perfect story-telling voice!  I am in love… we only have a few right now, but my kids will be getting more for Christmas.
