If you have an iPhone or an iPad the first thing most of us do is buy protective cases. The last thing any of us wants is to have to buy a new one because we dropped it or had some other catastrophic event happen to it. Catastrophic event example: you give your iPhone/iPad to your kid to play a game and they drop it on the floor smashing the glass, for this reason I have never given my iPhone to my kids in a grocery cart 😉 I would seriously consider it now though, read on to see why!
I have four kids so that’s the potential for four catastrophic events right there! Not to mention that I have a horrible habit of dropping my phone myself. Case in point: I had my iPhone for less then four hours and I managed to drop it on the floor just setting it up, so I knew that I had to get a case that was going to protect my phone from me and my kids!
The M-Edge SuperShell line of products is the perfect kid (and Mom) friendly iPhone and iPad protective cases. Made from a squishy foam material that wraps around your device it protects against falls and dings, and the ridges and dimpled texture helps with grip. We were sent the iPhone SuperShell, the iPad SuperShell and the new SuperStylus to try out and I have to say I am super impressed!
First, the iPhone SuperShell (ARV $29.99) is perfect for little clumsy hands. It’s contoured in the centre to make holding it easy but it has larger bumper type edges that makes it bounce when it hits floor(trust me I actually tested this 😉 ). I am really amazed at how light it made my phone. It’s a bulky case so isn’t a case I would use as my permanent case but if I need to hand it over to my kids I’ll be slipping this one on!
The Supershell for the iPad(ARV $34.99) is just as good! My husband was the one who used this, he liked the grip and the snugness of the fit. He was also very surprised at the responsiveness of the buttons under the shell. Normally when you have a case that covers the buttons it lowers the performance of the buttons but this was surprisingly flexible and actually made the buttons easier to press(it was the same on the iPhone case). The only negative he noted was that the hole for the charger is quite recessed and so in order to unplug it you have to pull the actual cord, wearing out your cord faster, but this is a very minor issue. He found it very comfortable to use and said if it wasn’t bright green he’d consider switching to using this case permanently!
We also got to try out the new SuperStylus pen(ARV $19.99), which is a “chubby” version of the regular stylus, designed for small hands with a non-slip comfort grip. I really like this stylus! I’ve been wanting a stylus for a while now so I was really excited when this showed up! Sadly I only got to use it for a few hours. I let my 5 year old use it while he was playing on my iPhone and apparently he got board while I was getting him into a game and he decided to bite the end off. O_O Needless to say I was not impressed! So I guess my only negative with this item is that you really need to watch your kids because they may get board and bite the end off the pen, rendering it useless!
The Supershell products are available for purchase at the M-Edge store and various US and International retailers.
