Now, back to the homemade pumpkin bread, because those chocolate chips won’t wait forever. They’re calling your name.

Just kidding, they’re chocolate chips, they don’t talk. That would just get in the way of the enjoyment of their little chocolate bodies. Erhm…

Anyway.

So, if you’re new to your bread machine or you’ve made bread a million times, you can absolutely make this easy pumpkin chocolate chip bread. You can even turn it into simply pumpkin spice bread if you leave out the chocolate chips.

And if you leave out the chocolate chips but still want some little “surprises” you can add in some of these yummy bites:

  • Chopped Pecans
  • Dried Cranberries
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Heath Bar Pieces
  • Peanut Butter Chips
  • Pumpkin Seeds (oh yum!)
  • Sunflower Seeds

The possibilities are really endless. And if you decide to add any of these into your pumpkin bread, you’ll be so happy you did–that little bit of treat makes the bread that much more yummy.

Are you ready? Let’s jump into making this pumpkin flavor quick bread. Did I mention that this is one of my favorite Bread Machine Desserts?

How to Make this Pumpkin Bread Machine Recipe

I like to start this bread recipe by combining all my dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, etc.), except the brown sugar, into a large bowl, whisking them until they’re combined.

Then, I combine the wet ingredients like the eggs, oil and pumpkin into the mix. You can replace the oil with melted butter, if you like, but I didn’t have any butter, so oil it was.

I fold in about 1/3 (or one time I added 1/2 cup) of chocolate chips and call the dough done.

Once that’s ready, I get my bread machine pan oiled and put the dough in it–and punch the button for quick bread.

Seriously, that’s it.

Imagine a slice of this warm pumpkin chocolate chip bread with a bit of cream cheese spread over it…So good.

Pumpkin Bread without a Bread Machine

If you wanted, you can make this in the oven without a bread machine, either as pumpkin muffins or as bread–or even 2 loaves if you double the recipe.

To do this, I just preheat the oven to 350, put it in prepared pans and bake for 50 minutes.

Easy. Peasy.

Must Have Resources:

When making Pumpkin Bread Machine Recipe at home, you really need to have the following Amazon affiliate tools on hand.

  • Well, you need a Bread Machine. If you don’t have one, you’ll need some bread pans that you can trust will be non-stick. But, if you do decide that you’re going to use non-non-stick pans (is that how you say it?!) you can always line your pans with parchment paper.
  • Large Mixing Bowls are absolutely necessary. No kidding, this dough needs a good bit of room to be worked.
  • Give a girl a whisk and she can stir things that need stirring.

Can I use almond flour instead regular flour and coconut oil instead of vegetable oil? Thanks!

Thank you for your comment! Almond flour can be a great alternative to regular flour in bread machine recipes. Just keep in mind that almond flour tends to be denser and can result in a heavier texture. You might want to try using a blend of almond flour and another gluten-free flour for better results.

As for coconut oil, it can definitely be substituted for vegetable oil in most bread machine recipes. Coconut oil adds a subtle tropical flavor and can enhance the overall taste of the bread. However, be aware that coconut oil solidifies at cooler temperatures, so make sure to warm it up slightly before using it in your bread machine.

Experimenting with different ingredients is always fun, so go ahead and give it a try! Let me know how it turns out. Happy baking!

I just made this and followed the recipe to the tee. When the bread machine was done I removed the bread and let it cool for at least an hour. I was so disappointed to see that the loaf was not cooked all the way through. The insides were like raw batter. We were able to salvage 2 slices out of the whole loaf. I set the machine to quick bread and 1.5 size loaf. Have no idea what went wrong. 😢

Oh no! Did you allow it to cool in the pan?

I wonder if one could make this with gluten free flour and use the gluten free cycle?

I feel certain you could - you are doing an even swap so it should be fine. If you try it, please come back and let us know how it goes. :-)

I’ve made this twice now and we love it! However, for some reason my quick bread cycle doesn’t have a mix in beep! So I just put all the chips on top before baking started and the result was like having a yummy chocolatey topping!

My bread machine does not have a quick bread setting. I’m using it for the first time today and was thinking about making this next but not sure how long or what setting to use since I don’t have the quick bread setting. Help!

It may be called "rapid". Here's what I found on the internet:

Quick Bread Those of you who love banana nut bread and similar treats, this is the cycle you will probably get the most use out of. It is designed for use with quick bread recipes, Quick breads, as a rule, can be baked immediately; they require no rise time. As mentioned above, quick breads do not contain yeast. You might be able to use this cycle for cakes, as well, depending on your machine.
