Including candied popcorn in your Christmas gift baskets sounds like a delightful idea! To keep it fresh and tasty, it's best to store the popcorn in an airtight container or sealed bag. When stored properly at room temperature, it should stay deliciously crunchy for up to 1 to 2 weeks. Just make sure it's completely cool before sealing it up to maintain that perfect bite. Happy gifting and enjoy the festive season!

What is the shelf life of this popcorn? I'm thinking of including in my Christmas gift baskets and wondered how long a sealed bag or container would keep?

I'm so glad you love the recipe! Your baby shower treats sound adorable! ? To keep the popcorn crunchy, store it in an airtight container at room temperature. You can definitely make it a day or two in advance. Just ensure it's completely cool before sealing it up. It should stay perfectly crunchy for your event. Have a wonderful shower!

Thank you for your sweet comment! ? For the Jell-O mixture, you want to drizzle it evenly over the popcorn. Make sure to coat it well without soaking it in a puddle. Aim for a generous drizzle so each piece is nicely covered. Enjoy making your delicious candied popcorn!

Thanks so much for this recipe! About how much of the Jell-O mixture do you put over the popcorn? Like fully saturated, and should be in a puddle of Jell-O or just slightly drizzle on top? Thank you.

Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe! We will be using it for our baby shower treats. They will say “thank you for popping by”. I’d like to make it a day or two an advance. How would you recommend to store it before I put it in the little baggies the day of the shower? Will it still be crunchy two days after making it?

In reply to <a href="https://3boysandadog.com/candied-popcorn-recipe/#comment-849624">Traci Eliot</a>.

Thanks for your comment! The food coloring in the recipe is primarily used to enhance and intensify the colors of the popcorn. While the jello does provide some color, the resulting shades may not be as vibrant without the added food coloring.

However, if you prefer more muted colors or would like to avoid using food coloring, feel free to leave it out. The jello itself will still provide a delicious flavor to the popcorn. You can give it a try without the food coloring and see how you like the natural hues created by the jello alone.

I hope this helps, and enjoy making the candied popcorn recipe! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for this! One question - Do you really need the food coloring? Won’t the jello give it enough color? (i haven’t tried it yet so I don’t know, but thought I would ask before heading to the store).
