The Booby Trap by Anne Browning Walker is your typical trashy chick-lit novel that so many women seem to love! This book was written for Walker’s close female friends! In fact, she says,
“I wanted my heroine to reflect the many smart, savvy, thoughtful, and driven women in my life,” Walker says. “Bambi is a modern-day heroine who values ambition and success in her own career, and also makes time for love.”
Welcome to The Booby Trap, a seedy bar where waitresses’ skirts are high, necklines are low and customers show up for the eye candy.
When brainy, beautiful, Harvard Ph.D. candidate Bambi Benson wants to study the women of the the Booby Trap for her dissertation, she goes undercover and joins them. All is going well for Bambi until handsome local celebrity Trip Whitley enters the scene.
Hoping to shock his high-society family by dating a bimbo, Trip offers to pay Bambi to pretend to be his girlfriend. She accepts his offer and bides her time, waiting for the right moment to reveal her true identity and teach Trip not to judge based on appearances.
After a series of dates carefully orchestrated for their publicity value, Bambi’s trap is set. But there’s one problem: the predator might have fallen in love with her prey.
Mom Says: It was a fun read… a kind of seedy place in it for my taste, but if you can get past that, the story line is your normal romance: Boy meets girl (or vice-versa), someone falls in love, there is conflict, the other realized he/she is in love and fights to win back. They all live happily ever after. Seriously, I loved it and will be looking on Amazon for some more Anne Browning Walker books!
I am supposed to be sharing a secret that I learned about my husband in response to the book… unfortunately, I just can’t do that! We are pretty private people. Oh, one thing I didn’t know that I just learned yesterday: he likes bright colors! BRIGHT.. no clue. LOL!
To Purchase: The Booby Trap has not been released yet on Amazon, but you can preorder it now!
