The star of this recipe is the tasty mashed bananas and the crunch of the pecans. Combined, it really is an awesome taste and texture. Once you make up the mixture and pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, you’re literally almost done with the recipe!

This bread recipe is one that my boys crave and I’m happy to make it up. It’s such a fun fall flavor that is a nice break from our summer zucchini bread that we consume for many months on end. This bread is perfectly sweet!

How do you know when this Pecan Banana Bread is done baking in the oven?

The toothpick test is the best bet! Just take a clean toothpick and insert it into the bread. If it comes out clean, take the bread out of the oven because it’s done and ready to start cooling.

Banana Pecan Bread

Yield: 2 loaves
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes

This Banana Pecan Bread is a simple dessert bread to make.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 4 bananas
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 2eggs
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 6 tsp milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

Start by adding milk, eggs, shortening, and sugar to a mixing bowl.

Peel your bananas and then add to the bowl.

Once done you're going to add in baking powder, baking soda, and flour.

Break up the pecans and then add them to the mixture.

Grease/flour two loaf pans and pour in the mixture, divided equally.

Add to the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees.

Cool on wire racks once done.
