Know what drives me insane? Junk toys. You know what I’m talking about — the accumulation of toys that slowly grows from a few things to a pile of plastic before you know it. The worst part? Your kids are bored with them. You spent all that money and the new-toy luster faded fast.
So what if you could spend that money on something that is not only fun and fresh, but that your kids loved? Oh, and the best part? It’s delivered to your door.
That’s the idea behind the BabbaBox by Jessica Kim. For as low as $29 a month, you can have a themed box delivered to your home that’s full of activities all centered around a monthly theme. It’s such a great idea, I wonder why I didn’t think of it first!
We received a pair of BabbaBoxes — one for Emma, 5 and one for Micah, 3. The theme for this month centered around the stars, constellations, planets, etc. I was so surprised by how much stuff came in the box!
We dug right in to our boxes, and the kids immediately pulled out one of the projects — paper mache “moon lanterns”. I was hesitant, because, well…watery glue. ‘Nuff said. But I figured the worst that could happen was a mess, and we forged on.
I’m so glad we did, because it was such a fun experience! BabbaCo thinks of everything when they send your box. Every single supply that was necessary to complete the craft was included. Balloons, bowls, paper, glue, stir sticks, and even the little battery operated light that flickered just like a real candle.
We had such a great time, and they were so proud of their lanterns that THEY made. I’d happily pay for this monthly service instead of buying them a $30 “noisy toy” that will either need new batteries in 6 months, or be flat-out broken by then. We finished up our craft day with a book that came in the box as well (hardcover!) that told the story of Twinkle the star.
I’m incredibly impressed with the attention to detail that goes into the BabbaBox, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone! In fact, they offer gift options! Wouldn’t this be a great gift for a new big brother or sister?
