You Light Up My Office! #GELighting

As you know, I have been working on my office.  Once of my biggest complaints was that it is super dark over in my corner.  I have been looking and looking for just the right lights to go with the feel of my new space.  It is super bright limey green (Spring Leaf from Glidden) and a deep dark chocolate (don’t remember the name).  I wanted a couple fun lights.

Anyway, I have glanced at lighting each time I have gone somewhere, but I never really spent a ton of time on it.

So, I found this cool concrete looking wall lamp and painted it to match my walls.  This is not a fabulous picture, but isn’t it a super cool effect?  Plus, I can leave on my new Bright From The Start CFL bulbs and save energy, yet not have to live like a Vampire!  YAY!

So, that fixed one lighting issue over near my filing cabinet, but what about the desk itself?  I wanted a lamp that was useful…and I found the perfect one at my local Walmart!  It is green, not the same exact green as my walls, but I think it looks great.  Plus, it has a spinning organizer thing around the bottom and a gooseneck so I can aim it where I need to.  Oh, it also has a super cool feature… a plug!  I can plug my phone or iPod or whatever right into my lamp on my desk!  Cool right?  Plus, with the super long cord, I can move it around from desk to workstation with ease.

Don’t forget to print your coupon from over there in my side bar before you head to the store – for each coupon printed and redeemed, $1.00 will be donated to the Foundation Fighting Blindness. You can also get involved with the Foundation Fighting Blindness by participating in Vision Walks.

My post is all out of order, but you have to follow my ADHD mind today. I went to the Ballpark and got drenched…. then, came home and realized that this post was due TODAY!  I had done all my shopping and such at Walmart

…but hadn’t compiled my thoughts into a post.  Oops!  I have 45 minutes to go and have to get this completed. Click the image above to see my entire trip on Google+.

Anyway, I am very happy with my new bulbs and am excited to see the savings on my power bill!  According to the GE Lighting Home Savings Calculator, I will be saving $78.40 with my new CFL bulbs.  That is about $6.50 per month.  What could you do with an extra 6 bucks?  What would you save if you switched out every bulb in your house?

Couple more things and I promise I will let you go. Smile
