GIVEAWAY: Classic Battleship Movie Edition #C2S12

Classic Battleship Movie Edition thumb GIVEAWAY: Classic Battleship Movie Edition #C2S12

I don’t know about where you live, but down here in Summer Alabama, it pretty much rains every single day in the Summer time!  Pretty much every afternoon, we get nasty afternoon showers that force the hot, tired, filthy kids back into the house.  We try to keep them entertained by heading to indoor places, firing up one of the gaming systems, pulling one of the many games out of our game closet, or popping a movie on the television.

On May 18, the epic action of the classic naval combat game will unfold in theatres nationwide with the release of Universal Pictures’ “Battleship,”starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and recording superstar, Rihanna. Of course, the live action doesn’t end with the film. Young naval commanders can go head-to-head with the Alien fleet in Hasbro’s Classic Battleship Movie Edition game. Players choose to command either the Navy or Alien fleet and can unleash brand new super weapon cards to destroy their opponent with attacks like those from the big screen! The game comes in a convenient carrying case, making it easy to wage your own battles at home or on the go.

Mom Says: OH. MY. Goodness!  I mean, it is Battleship, but better. LOL! However, we obviously haven’t seen the movie yet so the Alien Fleet kind of threw us off!  We didn’t know what to call the ships and had to keep looking at the instruction booklet to say things like, “You sank my Heavy Ordnance Craft!” LOL!  We really enjoyed it and with at least 4 different ways of playing, it will keep us entertained for quite some time.

One lucky 3 Boys and a Dog reader will win the own Classic Battleship Movie Edition to help them bust boredom this Summer!

REQUIRED COMMENT: Tell me about your memories of playing Battleship – when I was little, my brother and I would play all the time.  Then, one year he got the Electronic Battleship and we were amazed that it could talk! Seriously, it was so much fun!

Giveaway: Taboo Game by Hasbro ($26.99 value)

Taboo PKG thumb Giveaway: Taboo Game by Hasbro ($26.99 value)

At our house, we have LOTS of games, but we’ve never had Taboo.  Although it is for adults, as long as you screen the cards, the kids can play!  It is really too difficult for Thomas (5), but my other two do alright with it.  Plus, it really helps their vocabulary because they have to think of different words to use.

This new version has a new game changing die that makes it even more fun (and funny) adding other things you can’t do, like do not speak, or use your hands!

TABOO, everyone’s favorite game of forbidden words, has gotten a makeover in 2011! Now with a new,
sleek look, game changing die and hysterical “Uh-Oh!” buzzer sound, players will frantically try to get their  teammates to guess the winning word without using the Taboo words and phrases on their card. How do you  get your team to say the word “heart throb” without saying “teenage,” “idol,” “star” or “movies”? With more  than 1,000 words for players to try to guess, the “unspeakable” fun can continue for hours.

One lucky 3 Boys and a Dog reader will win their own copy of Taboo ($26.99 value).

GIVEAWAY: Ji Ga Zo Puzzle from @FamilyGameNight

400x100nationalparenting thumb GIVEAWAY: Ji Ga Zo Puzzle from @FamilyGameNight

We have had some issues with the National Parenting Month products getting to us in time, so we are now just winging this entire event. I have done many events here at 3 Boys and a Dog and have never had this many problems. LOL!  Anyway, welcome to the first review and giveaway of National Parenting Month.  This week is supposed to be about reminding you to have fun with your children!  Take some time to just play with them… let them choose because I am pretty sure they are sick of following your rules. LOL!

What is Ji Ga Zo?

According to the Hasbro website:

Ji Ga Zo is revolutionizing the puzzle category! This awesome puzzle has 300 pieces that you arrange to create any face – even your own! Start out with any digital image and upload it using the Ji Ga Zo software. The software figures out the placement of each piece and builds a unique icon map. Then, it’s up to you to arrange the pieces according to the icon map and watch your own special image come together! These 300 pieces are specially created with unique colors and shading that let them interlock to create almost any face image you upload. The possibilities are virtually endless and the “face-making” fun goes on and on! CD-ROM includes icon maps for Mona Lisa, a collie dog, a kitten, a panda bear and MR MONOPOLY. Includes CD-ROM with software and instructions, 300 puzzle pieces and assembly grid. Adult installation required.

550211E35056900B1055A5841BD3F1FC thumb GIVEAWAY: Ji Ga Zo Puzzle from @FamilyGameNightMom Says: Ok, so Ji Ga Zo is the neatest puzzle I have ever seen and we have been having a BLAST with it.  It comes with the software to help you get any face photo ready for the puzzle, then somehow you arrange those 300 pieces in the right order and you get your photo.  I swear, I feel like I am gushing, but this game is AWESOME!  For only $24.95, everyone should have this in their game closet!  The only downside is that my fingers are a bit sore from having to pop all 300 puzzle pieces out of the stiff cardboard.

To Buy:

Ji Ga Zo is available in most major toy and department stores and can be purchased online at the Hasbro Toy Shop for only $24.95

To Win:

REQUIRED: Visit the Hasbro Toy Shop and tell me which game you would like to try for National Parenting Month.
