I don’t know about where you live, but down here in Summer Alabama, it pretty much rains every single day in the Summer time! Pretty much every afternoon, we get nasty afternoon showers that force the hot, tired, filthy kids back into the house. We try to keep them entertained by heading to indoor places, firing up one of the gaming systems, pulling one of the many games out of our game closet, or popping a movie on the television.

On May 18, the epic action of the classic naval combat game will unfold in theatres nationwide with the release of Universal Pictures’ “Battleship,”starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and recording superstar, Rihanna. Of course, the live action doesn’t end with the film. Young naval commanders can go head-to-head with the Alien fleet in Hasbro’s Classic Battleship Movie Edition game. Players choose to command either the Navy or Alien fleet and can unleash brand new super weapon cards to destroy their opponent with attacks like those from the big screen! The game comes in a convenient carrying case, making it easy to wage your own battles at home or on the go.

Mom Says: OH. MY. Goodness! I mean, it is Battleship, but better. LOL! However, we obviously haven’t seen the movie yet so the Alien Fleet kind of threw us off! We didn’t know what to call the ships and had to keep looking at the instruction booklet to say things like, “You sank my Heavy Ordnance Craft!” LOL! We really enjoyed it and with at least 4 different ways of playing, it will keep us entertained for quite some time.

At our house, we have LOTS of games, but we’ve never had Taboo. Although it is for adults, as long as you screen the cards, the kids can play! It is really too difficult for Thomas (5), but my other two do alright with it. Plus, it really helps their vocabulary because they have to think of different words to use.

This new version has a new game changing die that makes it even more fun (and funny) adding other things you can’t do, like do not speak, or use your hands!

Do your kids love Play-Doh? I might as well ask you if the sky is blue, because I can pretty much guess with a good degree of certainty that they LOVE Play-Doh. I can always count on Play-Doh and its many accessories to give my kids hours (yes, literally) of entertainment. I love that their creativity is such a vital part of play time, and that I can really enjoy playing with them! Watching their imaginations at work is so amazing—the things they can create is limitless! That’s what I love most about Play-Doh.

Well, Play-Doh has done it again with another set of fabulous products. The Play-Doh Flip ‘n Serve Breakfast Playset has everything your kiddo needs to create a full breakfast spread! From waffle molds to “food” that flips over as it cooks, this playset is sure to bring your child’s imagination to life! My little ones loved making smoothies and fruit toppings for their waffles the best. This is such a cute toy, and it’s a great way to include your children into the breakfast process. Just set up the Flip ‘n Serve Breakfast Playset while you make pancakes. Compare your creations as you sit around the table together enjoying your meal.

Play-Doh Smashed Potatoes game is a new twist on the usual board game. This game is recommended for ages 5 and up, and I will say that it was a little too advanced for my 2 and 4 year old, but it didn’t stop them from loving the potato molds and Mash Machine! We have had some issues with the National Parenting Month products getting to us in time, so we are now just winging this entire event. I have done many events here at 3 Boys and a Dog and have never had this many problems. LOL! Anyway, welcome to the first review and giveaway of National Parenting Month. What is Ji Ga Zo?

Mom Says: Ok, so Ji Ga Zo is the neatest puzzle I have ever seen and we have been having a BLAST with it. It comes with the software to help you get any face photo ready for the puzzle, then somehow you arrange those 300 pieces in the right order and you get your photo. I swear, I feel like I am gushing, but this game is AWESOME! For only $24.95, everyone should have this in their game closet! The only downside is that my fingers are a bit sore from having to pop all 300 puzzle pieces out of the stiff cardboard.
