Fave Fridays – July 24, 2009

Can you believe that it is almost August!? Wow, huh? Summer is almost over! I am telling you… the older I get, the faster the year goes by!

Anyway, I am going out of town again. LOL! I don’t typically travel so much, but it seems I can’t stay home lately! My mom, her two exchange students, and I are headed to New Orleans in the morning! Then, we are going to a little town between there and Baton Rouge called Gonzales, Louisiana to shop! I am taking my laptop and the hotel is supposed to have internet access, but I am not planning to spend a bunch of time in the hotel so I will only be checking my email once or twice a day. Please be patient if you don’t hear from me. I will return home to my boys late Monday night, so I will be back to my regular schedule on Tuesday

Today, I have a contest ending and they typically end at noon, but unless I find a place to stop and check it, the contest will end late. It is open until I add the “The Contest is Now Closed” message at the top, so feel free to send your buddies! Also, I was given the opportunity to try a new product and can offer a giveaway! I have started the draft of the post and hope to spend a bit of time this weekend writing it up, but if I don’t then be sure to look for it Wednesday!

Wow, I got chatty! Ok, on to my Fave Friday’s Post! I am going with my online haunts today! When I get on the internet, I have a little system. After checking my email, I check several other places before taking a break (or starting over LOL).

1. FaceBook – yes, I have an addiction! I admit it! LOL! You can follow me on facebook by clicking the button in my side bar.

2. Twitter – another one of those addictions. LOL! I was not familiar with either until I started seriously blogging! Now, I am on both several times a day! Again, come find me! The link is also in my sidebar, right beside the Facebook one.

3. Bzz Agent – I check in with Bzz Agent to see if they have anything new for me. I don’t actually do this everyday, but several times a week.

4. My Blog – I always check my blog and my stats to see if I have new followers, comments, meme players, etc

5. Blog Friendly PR – I check in here each day, also to see if there is anyone new I should check out. If you are looking to get into reviews, you should have your blog listed here! If you are a company looking to find reviewers, you should have your company listed here. No, I am not affiliated with BFPR at all. LOL!

Fave Fridays – July 17th

Can you believe it is the 17th already? School starts in less than a month! Anyway, my parents surprised us with a camping vacation! We got here Sunday and don’t leave until Sunday!

My Fave Fridays are going to be based around our vacation.

1. No constant interruptions! I have my cell phone but only a few people have the number. I also have internet, but it is kind of a pain here, so I only log on in the morning and at night. As opposed to it being on 24/7

2. Closeness – All 5 of us are in a one room cabin. The first day was really bad (what with al the fighting), but things have gotten gradually better and I am enjoying it.

3. Exploring – When on vacation, we always feel we should be doing something. I am sure we are not the only ones that say, “You can watch TV at home!” SO, we have done lots of driving and walking around just looking for stuff to do that is cheap (err free)

4. NO HOUSEWORK! – Ok, I am still doing some cooking and dishes… but I am not dusting, doing laundry, vacuuming, etc.

5. My feather bed – Ugggh, these beds are really, really bad! My husband and I go to bed as late as we can and still wake up super early…all stove up! Could be worse, least we have a bed. LOL!

Fave Friday – July 10th

WOW! I thought I was going to have a fit! I had this post scheduled to go on at 1 am this morning (or thought I did!) so I haven’t thought about it. Well, until I got on tonight to see how many players I had and to go visit their blogs. Ooops! I have no idea what happened to my post, so here I am with one at 9:30 PM! Eeek! LOL

This week has been a bit crazy, so my Faves are going to reflect that.

1. Giveaways & Reviews! I just LOVE them, it is so neat to be able to find out about mom friendly products and to be able to offer them to my readers. I have two up right now and surprisingly, they have had very few “hits.”

2. Vacations! We leave Sunday afternoon for 8 days of camping! I will have email access (I wanted to rough it, but not THAT rough) but, don’t except instant answers as I usually give My goal is to check it each night. LOL!

3. Wal-Mart! Yes, it is strange consider you typically hear me saying I hate Wal-Mart LOL! I do not like the throngs of people, ridiculous SLOW lines, or the fact that you can’t go in for one thing and get out. On the other hand, you just can beat their prices! I got crayon boxes for 25 cents each! 24 count Crayola Crayons! I bought 6 <grin>

4. Yard Sales! We had a yard sale today. We didn’t make much off it, but it did make us get our mess together and finally clean out some of this junk. Example: I had a HUGE table of baby clothes as small as newborn! My baby is almost 3 years old. Seems I have had that stuff way too long LOL!

5. Fave Fridays – yes, I really enjoy it! Sometimes, I have to get very creative when writing things. Think about it, I have to come up with 5 favorite every single week! Plus, I like sticking with a theme, so that makes it even harder.

Fave Fridays – July 3rd

I am on to my third week of Fave Fridays. Last week we only had 1 person play along with me, uh-oh! This week, I hope to see my three from week one and my one from week two and another newbie or two come play.

Can you believe it is already July and tomorrow is Independence Day!? I certainly can’t… where did my summer go?

My Fave Friday List is a bit different this week, I am on a 4th of July kick, so my list will deal with that:

1. Watermelons – Born and raised in Grand Bay, AL – I have never had a 4th of July without good ole Grand Bay watermelons.

2. Fireworks at the Convalescent Home – Yes, I live in the country. After the Watermelon Festival, we go to the Old Folks’ Home to watch the Volunteer Fire Department put on the Fireworks Show!

3. Fruit, Flag Cake– My Grandmaw makes this Patriotic Cake every year for the 4th. It is oh-so-yummy!!

4. Spending Time with the Family – Nothing like a good patriotic Holiday to get us Southerners in the mood to mingle!

5. BBQ Chicken– Besides dessert, I gotta have Bar-Be-Que Chicken!

Fave Fridays – June 26th

I am on to my second week of Fave Fridays. Last week we had 3 people play along with me, not bad for the first week. I really hope we get more players this week. If you are seeing this for the first time, please check out the instructions to learn how to play with us.

How has your week been? Mine has been super crazy with summer blues setting in and ton of products for review rolling in.

My Fave Friday List:

1. Wii Fit! My mom let us borrow her Wii Fit through the summer (while she has no exchange students at home)… I am LOVING it and am going to have to try to figure a way to get that in the budget. I do not want to be without it. In fact, I have seen tons of games I want to try with it.

2. Summer! Although it is very hectic for us, we gets tons of family time during summer. My husband is a public school teacher, so he is basically home in the summer. It is nice!

3. Google Analytics – I have been checking in each day and watching my stats grow and grow! I have even set a goal for the end of the summer… wonder if I will reach it.

4. The Sound of Music – this is my all-time favorite movie!

5. Orange – I know, it is a very strange color to call your favorite, but it is. I love the brightness of it and the fact that almost no one claims it as their favorite. LOL!
