Menu Plan Monday: 31 Days To Clean (free printable)

Wow, it is already May!  Before we know it, Christmas is going to be here. LOL!  For the next 31 weekdays, I am going to be following along to the 31 Days to Clean Challenge that you may or may not have seen all over the internet.  I mention it here and now since I was reading ahead and got to a section by one of my favorites… Org Junkie!

In case you are interested, you can print my blank daily docket from google docs right now!

On to the menu plan – you will notice it is mostly make ahead meals this week and I get settled into the #31DaystoClean routine!

Monday:  Leftovers from this weekend (BBQ Chicken, Potato Salad, and Pork-n-Beans)

Tuesday: Crockpot Pizza

Wednesday: Girl Scout Stew

Thursday: Easy Italian Meatloaf, Cheesy Ranch Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans

Friday:  leftovers

It has been very interesting reading over the responses to my reader survey and finding that most of the people say the Menu Plan Monday is their least favorite feature here at 3 Boys and a Dog.  I find it interesting, because (aside from my really big giveaways), my Menu Plan Monday posts get more traffic than any other post on my site.

Don’t forget to check out Org Junkie for hundreds more menu plans!

Merry Christmas To You and Yours!

I am up early preparing food!  We have a super busy next several days and I am so excited!  I am very curious though about what other people’s Christmas time looks like.

My Christmas Schedule

December 24th at 11 am

Dinner at our house:

  • Ricky’s Daddy
  • Ricky’s Sister, her husband, and their 2 children
  • My family of 5 wlEmoticon winkingsmile6 Merry Christmas To You and Yours!

The family is coming here and we are having some pretty yummy food and a few hours to be together.  I don’t see Ricky’s Daddy very often, so I really enjoy this day!

December 24th at 3 pm

We are off to Mom’s for more food and presents.

  • Mom, Dad, and their two exchange students
  • My Grandmother (Mom’s Mother) and her boyfriend
  • My Brother, his Wife, and their little girl
  • My family of 5.

We typically have sandwiches or Chili and this year is Chili.  My Brother’s Wife is making it this year and I have never had her’s, so I am looking forward to trying it!

December 25th at 8 am

Breakfast at my house:

  • Same people that went to Mom’s the previous night!

This is a chance for everyone to come see what Santa brought to my boys.  It is a bit hectic, but I enjoy it because it gives me a chance to visit with my family on Christmas Day.

December 25th at 10 am

Off to my other Grandmother’s to see my Daddy’s side of the family:

  • My grandmother
  • My Aunt and her husband
  • My three Cousins and their families
  • My Brother and his family
  • My Parents

We don’t actually usually see all of the above as Christmas at my Grandmother’s is a “get there when you can” day.

December 25th at 1 pm

Last stop of the day is Ricky’s Mother’s house for dinner and presents.

  • Ricky’s Mom and Step-Dad
  • Ricky Sister and her family
  • Ricky’s Step-Sister and her husband
  • Ricky’s other Step-Sister, her husband, and their 2 girls.
  • Ricky’s Grandmother

Busy, busy!

December 26th at 8 am

I am off for 5 days and 4 nights of shopping and scrapbooking with my mom and one of her exchange students!  The other is going on a ski trip so she won’t be with us.  I am sure we are going to have a BLAST!

What About You?

Is your Christmas as crazy as mine?

Don’t forget, if you have time to get on here, that I have a few giveaways still running and very soon I will have some more up.  If I can’t just survive the rest of 2010! LOL!

Once again, I hope y’all have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

REVIEW: Peppermint, Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookies… but in Ice Cream? (Blue Bunny Limited Edition Flavors)

The Sugar Cookie Ice Cream sounded pretty good, I figured it couldn’t be much different than regular Cookie Dough.  But, Peppermint Ice Cream?  Yeah, I was skeptical to say the least!

As I have mentioned a time or two, I am an International Exchange Coordinator with EF Foundation for Foreign Study… a group of 3 IECs in this area supervise about 50 kids each school year.  We are also available for all of their host family members.  We try to do things through the year to get everyone together… like the Christmas Party we just had.

Everyone is supposed to bring something different to the Party and I brought Ice Cream thanks to Blue Bunny. wlEmoticon winkingsmile5 REVIEW: Peppermint, Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookies… but in Ice Cream? (Blue Bunny Limited Edition Flavors) I know y’all are thinking, “Ice Cream?  In the middle of December?”  I live in South Alabama… although we did get a 20 degree cold snap a couple weeks ago, it was upper 60’s for the party.  Certainly not too cold for Ice Cream and everyone was excited that I brought it.

Their website does not have the Limited Edition Christmas flavors up, so I am going to take a bit to introduce you to them.

One of the host Dads enjoying a DSCN2599 REVIEW: Peppermint, Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookies… but in Ice Cream? (Blue Bunny Limited Edition Flavors)Sugar Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich: This was my least favorite of the three, but it was still pretty good.  I also had a host parent that nibbled some of everyone’s Ice Cream and she said this was her favorite.  It is Sugar Cookie ice cream in a sugar cookie sandwich.  I prefer really sweet and this wasn’t extremely sweet.

One of our Exchange Students (Germany) enjoying a DSCN2596 REVIEW: Peppermint, Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookies… but in Ice Cream? (Blue Bunny Limited Edition Flavors)Hot Cocoa Ice Cream Sandwich -  Ok, this was by far my favorite of all the sandwiches and ice creams that we were sent to test out.  Chocolate in Chocolate, YUM!  On the other hand, the lady I mentioned above?  She really liked it but said it was really sweet.

Another of our Exchange Students enjoying a DSCN2595 REVIEW: Peppermint, Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookies… but in Ice Cream? (Blue Bunny Limited Edition Flavors)Perfectly Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich – As I said above, I was really unsure of this… Peppermint in Ice Cream just does not sound good to me…. now, I have tried it and I really like it!  To me it is definitely a unique taste, but seriously it is good.  Peppermint light ice cream with a peppermint ribbon between two chocolaty layers.  Even sounds pretty good, huh?

We also had:

  • Blue Bunny’s Premium Spumoni ice cream – I am not crazy about this one, but Zack (my middle boy) says this is his favorite:  Old World And Spumoni Fruit & Nut – my husband says it is like an Ice Cream Fruit Cake and I think I have to agree with him.
  • Premium Perfectly Peppermint ice cream (say that 3 times fast, LOL!)– I really like this one better, I am thinking that is because it doesn’t have the chocolate sandwich and is just ice cream and peppermint.

So, what can you do with Blue Bunny Ice Cream if it is cold in your area?  Their site has plenty of awesome recipe ideas including:

Blue Bunny® Hot Caramel Latte – which looks amazing to me! I love Lattes.

Plus, if you get to your local grocery store before they run out, you can get your hands on their Limited Edition Flavors and make these great sounding recipes:

Take a moment to look the above over.. you could start a new tradition this Holiday Season!
