Every Friday, Bare Escentuals will be posting a new discussion topic.  Rethinking makeup itself, Bare Escentuals found looking good is not about using artificial gunk to cover imperfections, but about enhancing what you’ve got. Going along with the topic for the week, there’s a short quiz with five questions. By getting in on the conversation, taking the quiz, and sharing it with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, or email, you can win fabulous goodies!

1-barepublic This week’s topic is “rethinking going bare in public.”  Doesn’t that sound like a super fun time?  LOL!  Seriously, the quiz was easy and painless.  I can’t wait to see what you girls think of this new campaign.

CLOSED: Unilever Beauty Tip of the Day Review & Giveaway

Have you noticed that neat little Beauty Tip of The Day widget at the top of my right sidebar?  We are into another 4 weeks of beauty tips and this time, I have something for my readers!

    Picture 205

Pay close attention since this giveaway will be slightly different than my others. :-)

I was sent the above goodies as a thanks for posting the Beauty Tips Widget and so I could try out some of the tips.  I keep Q-Tips in my house at ALL times, I use them for a million things:

    1. Makeup smudges. Dip a Q Tip in moisturizer or makeup remover to selectively swipe away stray mascara, liner or shadow.
    2. Belly Buttons – Clean out belly buttons (or around an umbilical cord) with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol
    3. Fingernail polish off the edges of your cuticles with nail polish remover.
    4. Apply highlighter to tricky areas like the inner corners of your eyes or your Cupid’s bow.
    5. Create smoky eyes by smudging color into the lashes with a Q-tip.
    6. Apply self-tanner inside stretch marks to hide them or other small spots you missed.
    7. Sticky Noses – if you have little ones, you have sticky boogers that will not wipe off.  Rub a Q-tip around the inside of the nose and it collects those slimy things!
    8. Faucets & Drains – Find it hard to get it clean around faucets and drains?  Q-tips!!
    9. Crevices – Dashboard, computers, televisions, etc.  I get into those tiny spots with a trusty Q-tip!
    10. Zits! – Every product says to put it directly onto the blemish, but the nozzle is much too big and you get it everywhere.  Use a Q-tip to dab clearing product directly onto pimple!

Now, I don’t have a list for it, because frankly I do not use Vaseline very often.  I use it to get gum out of hair but that is about the extent of my uses. :-)   So, how to win your own box of Unilever Beauty Products…

You may do any or ALL of the following for chances to win!

    1. Leave a comment telling me YOUR favorite Vaseline use, one comment per use- it gets tricky because duplicate uses will be removed before I determine a winner! :-) Also, remember this is a family friendly website!
    2. Leave a comment telling me YOUR favorite Q-tip use, one comment per use – it gets tricky because duplicate uses will be removed before I determine a winner! :-)

CONTEST WILL CLOSE Friday, November 6th.

CLOSED: Aveeno Nourish+ Review and Giveaway

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!  WINNERS WILL BE POSTED NEXT WEEK.

This contest is not part of the Spooktacular Soiree.  This will end on Oct 9th at noon!

nourish-moisturize-conditioner Thanks to Bzz Agent, I was able to review the Aveeno Nourish+ Revitalize Shampoo and Conditioner.

Here is what the Aveeno Nourish+ site has to say:

Only AVEENO® has harnessed the power of ACTIVE NATURALS® Wheat Complex in formulas proven to target and fortify the weakest parts of hair, restoring it in just 3 washes. Build shiny, strong hair with life with the AVEENO® NOURISH+ Hair Care Collection.

Mom Says:  I use my straight iron, blow dryer, and curling iron religiously.  If I am not using those items then my hair is in a bun, ponytail, or braid(s).  Consequently, I am really rough on my hair.  I am always looking for an affordable product that will help “revitalize” my hair.  Why does it seem that your hair looks so nice after you get it professionally done but even if you purchase the exact same products, it never looks as healthy again?

I have literally tried a million hair care products from hot oil treatments, to vitamins, to masques.  Some make my hair feel really nice and others make it look really nice.  I like Pantene, it does work but I have found that I have to switch it every month or so to something else or it starts to slack off.  I do not know why, I only know this is true.  Then, it takes the full 14 days to get it back to par.  The Aveeno Nourish+ claims 3 washings and they aren’t lying.  My hair is definitely healthy looking, shinier, and softer.  It isn’t so good it is a miracle, but I do believe it is better.  Now, will it continue to improve or will I need to switch in a few months?  I have no idea, but if I do need to switch, I know what I can switch to. LOL! Besides, the Aveeno Nourish+ is very affordable at about 7 dollars a bottle!

Guess what, I have 6 sample packs that include a 1 dollar off coupon and 2 travel sized sets to give out!  That is a total of 8 winners.  So, who wants to win?

REQUIRED:  Go to https://www.chatthreads.com/?cid=101289519372 and complete the survey.  If it asks for your Conversation id, please enter the following #

Then come back and leave a comment confirming. :-)

BONUS:  Are you likely to try Aveeno? Why or Why not?

Good luck! This contest will end on Friday Oct 2nd at 12 noon.  Since I am mailing myself I will mail pretty much anywhere. ;-)
