Are you addicted to FaceBook?

Between Farm Town, Mobsters, and all those quizzes, it is a wonder anyone has time for anything.  How about making your FaceBook time a bit more worthy?

Hellmann's

I received this email today from Mom Select!

As moms, we know that no matter what lunch we prepare for our kids, they always seem to want to swap sandwiches with their friends once they get to the cafeteria at school!  When it comes to the time-honored tradition of swapping sandwiches, our kids may be having all the fun.  Luckily, Hellmann’s® and Best Foods® Mayonnaise has teamed up with musician and actor Billy Ray Cyrus to encourage people of all ages to celebrate their favorite childhood ritual and join the virtual Sandwich Swap ‘n’ Share program to raise money for Feeding America®, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.

MomSelect is asking our members to join Billy Ray Cyrus, celebrated celebrity dad, in contributing to this very worthy cause. For every sandwich created as part of the virtual Sandwich Swap ‘n’ Share program on Facebook.com/hellmanns, Hellmann’s® and Best Foods® will donate 7 lunches to Feeding America®.

If that isn’t enough to get you to click over right now, you just might win something, too! Each sandwich created will automatically enter you for a chance to win a $250 grocery store gift certificate. And for every friend on Facebook® that you share your sandwich with, Hellmann’s® and Best Foods® will donate an additional 7 lunches to the charity.

I already made my sandwich and sent it to my four friends for today!  You can do 4 each day!  GO! Help the hungry instead of just wasting time on FaceBook. :-)

Get Organized With Office Max & Save 20%

officemax_logo I was one of only 200 bloggers who was given the chance to attend the Office Max back to school blog cast featuring Peter Walsh.  You know, that super energetic guy from the TLC Show Clean Sweep!?  Peter Walsh is a world renowned organizational expert.  Peter discussed how to prepare for back to school with well known Mom Blogger, Ana Picazo; award-winning teacher, Heather Wolpert-Gawron, as well as two students.  We learned tips on Organization at home, Organizing Kids, and Organizing for the Back to School Transition.  As a homeschooling mom, I found many of his tips especially helpful!  You should go watch the short blog cast, but remember to get a notebook and pen so you can take notes!

I was also given the opportunity to try out the latest school supplies from OfficeMax’s Schoolio-Von-Hoolio Kid centric line.

Schoolio-Von-Hoolio_DarlingCollection Schoolio-Von-Hoolio_Cupcake_Binders, Notebooks, CompositionBooks& Folders

Tropical Update: We are fine!

Good morning, gals!  I just wanted to let you all know that we are perfectly fine, it ended up totally avoiding us… in fact, we haven’t gotten a drop of rain. :) There are still more storms out there so you could be seeing that message again next week, but for now we are back to our regularly scheduled program at 3 Boys & a Dog!

I wanted to give a special thanks to Jyl at The Post It Place and Blog Friendly PR for the wonderful email I got in my inbox this morning with the offer of reading my emails to me over the phone, answering them, and making posts for me if needed!!

Also, please be sure to keep those in the Florida Panhandle in your prayers as you go through your day!  I think it had fizzled into basically nothing by the time it made land fall, but at last count they had already gotten 5 inches of rain and I haven’t checked this morning. :-)

Menu Plan Monday August 17th – 21st

I don’t know about you guys, but I am getting so excited for this month to be over so we can kick off my Back 2 School Blog Bash!  I have worked on it for so long that I am ready to show my readers what I have in store!  I also have some awesome Guest Posters scheduled for the month!  This is going to be one busy blog come September.  Anyway… on to my menu!  You know, I slacked off on my menus all summer and I really blew the food budget!  I am so glad we are back in school so we can keep up a schedule again. :-)

**As always, if the recipe is listed on my site then the title will be clickable. :-) **

Monday: Manwiches and Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

Tuesday: Chicken & Broccoli Braid

Wednesday: Easy Italian Meatloaf (recipe to come soon) & Mashed Potatoes (recipe to come soon)

Thursday: Easy Chinese Stir-Fry

Friday: Busy Day BBQ Meatballs (recipe to come soon) & Potato Salad (recipe to come soon)

You will notice that I have planned meals for each day this week instead of my usual of leftovers on Friday.  There is a very good reason for that… we didn’t have any leftovers last week!!  We ended up at McDonald’s for supper on Friday!  I don’t want that to happen again this week because frankly, it isn’t something we can afford to do every week!

Hurricane Season is Upon Me!

I have made so many friends in the blogging world!  I am not bringing you guys a weather forecast since you can watch it on TV, see it online, or read it in the paper.  I did want to give you guys a little heads up, though. :-)   We have a Tropical Storm headed our direction (I am literally minutes from the Gulf in Southern Alabama) and should hit around 2 Monday morning.  I will be safe assuming no tornados spin off from it, but we could lose power.  The last time we were affected (Katrina) we lost power for a couple weeks and the time before that (Ivan) it was closer to a month.

Here’s the deal… if we lose power I will be unable to check my email as frequently as I normally do.  Also, only pre-scheduled posts will be posting on my blog.  I will have to drive (probably) several hours in a direction away from the eye to find Wi-Fi and power :-) .  Please, please, please… if you send me an email and I do not respond do not continue emailing and do not send well wishes. :-)   Feel free to leave a comment on my blog so that I can check it when we get power on.  But, the little time that I will have elsewhere checking email I will need to devote to companies, host families, etc and I do not want my email filling up.  If my email fills up, my ISP dumps it so I could lose all the previous emails and may lose something very important with no way of recovering it.

If I wake up in the morning to find that we are all fine, I will take a minute to first post a message letting my wonderful readers know.  If you do not receive this confirmation, please do not panic! :-D

My prayers are with anyone else in the path.  Although a Tropical Storm is a minor thing to those of us in Hurricane Territory, it can have deadly effects!

**Also, please note that you might be seeing this post jump to the top of my blog several times over the next couple months as we are in the midst of the worst time of Hurricane Season.  I will simply change the date on it each time we get a Warning. :-D **
