98 Days to Christmas + Holiday House Prep

100daystochristmasbanner Those days are slipping away pretty quickly!  Today is VERY easy for me as I am about 90% done with my Christmas shopping. :-)   I make a list on the day after Christmas each year and start my shopping for the next year.   The stores always have such great sales and I can usually get a few names marked off my list.  I am not keeping my list in my binder because I keep it in my purse.  This way, no matter where I am, I have it.  On my list I record exactly what I buy and how much it cost me.  How do you do yours?

99 Days Until Christmas + Holiday House Prep

Holiday House Prep Bonus Challenge: This one is simple to get us in the spirit and to get us ready to tackle our home. :-)

Picture 198 Today I want you to look at the place you keep your left-over containers.  What does is look like?  Is it super messy?  Take a few minutes to go through and make sure every top has a bottom and every bottom has a top.  Then, put them all back in neatly.  As we get closer to the holidays, we will be using our plastic containers much more often.  It is better to know what we have and what we don’t.

Do you notice that you really don’t have much of anything left after clearing out the junk?  Make a note to pick up some Rubbermaid containers next time you are out.

Or, maybe you just found that you are literally SWIMMING in containers… throw out the horrible ones, then think of other uses for the extras:  bathroom to contain all those little travel items, kids’ room for socks, kids’ playroom for small toys, craft room, etc. :-)

Have fun and please let me know how it goes.  Plus, keep your eyes open for the Mr. Linky in tomorrow’s “Days Until” post so you can add your before and afters of your left over food container cabinet.

I am taking the challenge! Are you?

Thanks to Jennifer at List PlanIt, I found a wonderful website… 100 Days to Christmas!  I am taking the challenge and plan to record my progress right here on my blog. :-)

To start the day off, I signed up for her daily emails and made my list to get my Holiday binder all ready to go.  Very shortly, I will be heading to CVS to pick up a few things and will see if they have any stickers out yet to go on my binder.

Also, I am planning to do some housekeeping challenges throughout her 100 days to Christmas to get my house ready and to help my readers get their house ready for the holidays.  Are you excited?  I am also making my to do list to see about getting something fun happening on my blog for the holiday season.  You know, since we are all having such a blast with my Back 2 School Blog Bash!

So, what do I need to so for today’s Challenge?

1.  Make list of ideas for blog.

2.  Begin writing holiday house prep posts.

3.  Gather supplies for my Holiday Binder (see http://100daystochristmas.com/100-days-to-christmas-official-launch/ for exact details)
