Product: Playtex Baby The First Lil’ Gripper™ Twist ‘n Click™ Straw Trainer Cup 7 OZ
Do you have a hard time finding the right cup for your little one? You know they tops don’t fit right or the cup can’t easily wash, or the tops (worse)! Sometimes finding the right cup for your toddler seems like a daunting task….it does me. After five kids I think I’ve tried every brand and style (no kidding). Here’s one I must confess, I really love! Why???
What I Love: First off, it is a great cup if your child is transitioning from either bottle or breast to cup, or like my little one, using it and still nursing. The next reason why I (and my little one) love this cup is that it has little handles to easily hold while sitting or for my little guy who seems to be always on the go, easy to hold in one hand while balancing himself with the other. I love that the drinking part also is teaching him how to drink out of a straw and at the same time you can flip the top over it and hide the straw to avoid getting dirty. When I was giving my little one lemonade (during these hot
summer spring days) for the very first time, I loved the neat feature the straw has. If I squeeze it just a little it brings the liquid up for the child to taste it while he/she learns how to use the cup properly. Neat little feature, right?
Cleaning: I love that this cup comes apart completely! Best of all, all parts are dishwasher safe – score! AND if a piece gets lost or damaged, Playtex sells the replacement parts for the “innerds”. How awesome is that? 🙂 I like that all pieces separate so that it avoids liquid from getting trapped in the straw and not cleaned properly. Oh, and it’s lid is interchangeable with all Playtex Twist ‘n Click cups!
Added Feature: This nice little cup also has the Twist ‘n Click™ anti-leak seal. This prevents the cup from leaking should your toddler leave it on it’s side or drop it in the van/car and it start leaking (yes my little one tested this feature out as well when he threw the cup in the van as hard as he could just to test the laws of physics, lol).
Warning: This cup was made for ages 4-12, though I used it with my 13 mont old and had no problems…my 34 month old (that’s almost 3, ladies) didn’t do too hot with it. His first test was to see how much liquid he could get out of it. Yep, he flipped it open and turned it upside down and shook it as hard as he could. When it didn’t come out fast enough for him (only drops where coming out), he started hitting the straw to the table. When the pressure was applied, yep more liquid spilled. I did watch him do this on purpose, I wanted to see what would happen. Thankfully my 13 month old wasn’t watching (and learning). So I’d recommend it for 15 month old and younger (unless your kids aren’t as in love with water as mine, does that even exist?).
