GIVEAWAY: Udi’s Gluten Free

Udis GIVEAWAY: Udis Gluten FreeI don’t have gluten issues and neither does anyone in my family, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been exposed to the realities of gluten intolerance’s or celiac desease. One of my very good friends has a gluten intolerance as well as all three of her children and because of this I have become acutely  aware of the effects that gluten can have on our bodies. Now, don’t get me wrong I love me a good slice of fresh homemade bread but if we’re not meant to have gluten in our diets then I am willing to give it up if I can find a suitable replacements for the things I love. Pasta, bread, baking, etc.

Udis Raisin Bread 287x300 GIVEAWAY: Udis Gluten FreeI’ve tried many gluten free cakes and I have enjoyed every one and in fact, if I could make it from scratch I would only make gluten free cakes because I actually prefer the taste! I had heard about Udi’s Gluten Free products but I wasn’t sure where to buy it and I really wanted to give it a try, so when we were approached to do a review I was all over it!

Our mission is to provide you with the best gluten-free food on the planet. We create delicious products that will fill your stomach and warm your soul. The flavor and texture of Udi’s Gluten Free breads, buns, bagels, muffins, cookies and granolas are so good our fans have been known to cry with joy!

Udis Omega Flax Fibre 287x300 GIVEAWAY: Udis Gluten FreeUdi’s Gluten Free isn’t just bread, as mentioned above they also make bagels, muffins, cookies and granola. I had the chance to sample their many flavours of bread and hamburger buns and I am in love! I think our favorite bread is the Cinnamon Raisin, my one year old ate most of that loaf! Each loaf had such a unique flavour I don’t know that I could specifically pick one that I like more. I like the size of loaf as well for my little eaters. It toasted perfectly and made a great sandwich. The bread wasn’t my husbands favorite but he did really like the hamburger bun. If I had to go gluten free, Udi’s would be on the top of my list of products I would buy. I’m looking forward to trying some of their other products.

Two lucky 3 Boys and A Dog readers are going to win 5 FPC for Udi’s Gluten Free products!

Love this!

As my daughter and I leafed through the book we saw quite a few recipes that we were eager to make together. I’m thinking maybe we’ll pick a few recipes and have her “host” a dinner for the family. My favorite thing about any cookbook is seeing a tasty picture of the finished product and boy oh boy the pictures in this cookbook did not disappointment me! I also love that it has everything from a very simple snack recipe of celery, peanut butter and pretzels, to more complicated recipes like Homemade Hot Pretzels.

Aimed at tween girls, this cookbook could really be used with any girl ready to get her hands dirty in the kitchen with Mom (or Dad).

Food, Faith and Fun can be purchased from many online retailers, such as Amazon, as well as many brick and mortar store locations (ARV $12.99).

One very lucky 3 Boys and A Dog reader is going to win a copy of Food, Faith and Fun! (A$13 Value)

GIVEAWAY: The Quick and Clean Diet by Dari Alexander

The Quick Clean Diet GIVEAWAY: The Quick and Clean Diet by Dari AlexanderSo who made, Lose these unwanted pounds, as one of their New Years Resolutions? While I don’t make resolutions, I definitely need to lose a few pounds after having my last baby (just over a year ago icon sad GIVEAWAY: The Quick and Clean Diet by Dari Alexander ). It’s busy having four kids and a busy working husband, I find it hard to find the time to run (which I love) or to just exercise in general. I’d prefer to exercise first thing in the morning but I have very early risers and my kids get on their bus for 7:45 each morning so I’d have to get up at 5 to exercise! (I don’t see that happening icon wink GIVEAWAY: The Quick and Clean Diet by Dari Alexander ). So until things slow down I have to find other ways to change my body shape and weight and the first thing I need to do is change how I eat.

Dari Alexander, a Fox News Anchor, has written a book called The Quick & Clean Diet, which focuses on eating fresh, whole foods rather then pre-packaged, frozen, refined foods. But unlike other diets where you feel like your starving yourself, The Quick & Clean Diet lets you eat and eat foods that are tasty and satisfying. I’ve already been trying my best to switch my family over to mostly whole foods, so this “diet” shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for me, I’m looking forward to giving it a try.

So here’s a breakdown of the three stages of the diet:

High Motivation: is where you quickly lose weight, limit and control your cravings, and shrink your stomach. After three days you will be well on your way to a better looking you!

Grounding: is where you experience more weight loss while introducing yourself to whole grains, lean proteins, and good fats.

Stability: is where you evolve and develop into a healthy eating, living machine!

The book not only explains the diet, but it also explains the principles behind the diet and includes some tasty recipes and the whole guide to the High Motivation stage which is only 14 days long. If you’re looking to lose weight and want to change your life this is the book to read. I would recommend this to anyone looking to lose weight in a healthy long lasting kind of way. This book is right up my alley and since I’m already trying to make good choices for my family this just solidifies things.

The Quick & Clean Diet is available for purchase from Amazon, as well as other online retailers and be sure to check your local store as I’m sure it’s also available there icon smile GIVEAWAY: The Quick and Clean Diet by Dari Alexander

Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea Lynn

8364503175 26f5c834a5 n Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea Lynn I used to drink a lot of  soft drinks when I was younger and didn’t care so much about but what I put into my body. icon wink Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea Lynn But as I got older, I got wiser and realized just how much sugar was in a single can of Coke or root beer. So I stopped drinking regularly and now I only have it at special times or when the other drink options aren’t appealing. But with new products coming out like the SodaStream, where you can make your own soda and control what goes in the syrup my interest has been peaked.

8364504653 303b3342eb m Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea LynnThe Artisan Soda Workshop is a recipe book that allows you to make you own refreshing, all-natural sodas and elixirs at home with or without a SodaStream! It has 70 recipes with step-by-step instructions, and beautiful, colourful photos, making it easy for you to create your own bubbly fruit, herb and spice drinks as well some of your favorites such as:

  • Cherry Coke
  • Root Beer
  • Pineapple-Basil Soda
  • Sparkling Rosemary Lemonade
  • Fizzy Papaya-Orange Agua Fresca
  • Strawberry-Balsamic Shrub
  • Hibiscus Soda

and so many more!!

8365573380 b99506fb7a m Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea LynnMy favorite thing about this book is that the recipes use all-natural ingredients that you likely have on hand! And many of the recipes use only a small handful of ingredients which appeals to me even more. My husband and I tried to make our own ginger ale one time and it didn’t turn out all that well so I am looking forward to making the ginger syrup, which only has four ingredients! (Not including the seltzer icon wink Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea Lynn ) Each recipe is easy to read and follow, and you most definitely aren’t limited to just making soda! You can also use the syrups to flavor smoothies, top pancakes or french toast, stir it into some oatmeal, top your ice cream, as a cocktail mixer or combine it with oil and vinegar for a tasty salad dressing! So many possibilities you just need to use your imagination. icon smile Review: The Artisan Soda Workshop by Andrea Lynn

The Artisan Soda Workshop was released in July of 2012, by Ulysses Press, at a suggested retail price of $14.95 and is available for purchase at most independent bookstores as well as online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.
