Bacon salt makes this taste fabulous without all the calories!

Ingredients

  • 4 leeks tough outer leaves removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Garlic to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Hickory Smoked Bacon Salt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Split leeks down the middle, long ways. Place in a water bath to remove dirt.

Remove leeks to an oven safe, foil-lined pan to make cleanup easier. Shake off excess water (you want them to retain some of the water though).

Drizzle with olive oil, garlic, and bacon salt. Place in oven and cook for 15 minutes.

Top with Parmesan and serve immediately.

Wow. This dish looks delicious and healthy. The best thing about it is that it gives me the excuse to go to the farmer's market for some leeks.

I love leeks! Their lemony onion goodness is wonderful with chicken. I didn't get to plant any this year and that is sad. Now I get to tell the cashier, "No, they are not humungous green onions". Not complaining but it surprises me how many people don't know what they are. I have never had them with bacon but, your right, everything is better with bacon! Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday!
