Fun and Easy Halloween Crafts

Sharing is caring!

Halloween is one of those holidays you can’t help but get wrapped up in when it rolls around. There are so many different approaches you can take – do you want to be spooky, scary or fun? Do you want to make your costumes at home or go all out and buy fancy store bought ones? Will you be passing out candy or toys? It’s also a good reason to get the kids together and make some fun Halloween decorations!

Here are five Fun and Easy Halloween Crafts that your kids will love making:fun and easy halloween crafts

1. Ghosts

The traditional ghosts are made out of white sheets – but this year make them out of empty gallon milk jugs! They will make the perfect spooky and silly ghosts and all you need is some empty gallon jugs and a permanent marker. Simply draw on the faces and you have some fun decorations. Want to take it one step further? Cut out a space from the bottom of the jug and put in a battery-operated candle to light them up!

For a little inspiration, take a look at these ideas.

2. Jack-o-lanterns

Instead of the traditional pumpkin-carving routine, grab a few ceramic orange pots and spend an afternoon transforming them from gardening pots to jack-o-lanterns. You just need some craft paint and a little imagination to add in all the features a carved jack-o-lantern would have. The best part? Once the holiday is over you can store them for next year instead of tossing them out like you would a pumpkin!

Here are some of our favorite Jack-o-lanterns from around the web.

3. Spiders

To make the cute little spiders to put around the house, just cut up an egg carton and flip the cups upside down. Paint them black and add on some pipe cleaners for legs and googly eyes so he can see and voila! Now you have a great Halloween spider to add to your spider web decorations.

Spider crafts are so easy and a lot of fun. Here’s a few to get you started.

4. Monster Feet

Don’t throw those old tissue boxes away – instead use them to make monster feet. Just paint the boxes whatever color you’d like, add decorations like sequins or buttons, and cut little triangles out of felt or foam to glue onto the end for toes. Your kids will have a blast clomping around the house pretending to be Sully from Monsters, Inc.

5. Witch Hats

All you need for this easy craft is some black construction paper, some glue and some tape. From one of the sheets of construction paper into a cone and tape it so it stays. Take the other sheet of construction paper and cut a large circle out of it to make the hat brim. Then glue the cone to the hat for a basic black witch’s hat. If you want to take it one step further you can decorate the hat with felt or buttons, or make patches for it out of different colored construction paper.

We absolutely love these witch crafts. Check them out and have some fun with the kids.
