The biggest thing to keep in mind with this recipe is that you’re going to want to stir constantly so that your melted chocolate and other ingredients combine perfectly to get that sweet and delicious flavor.

Chocolate Covered Toffee

Since this recipe only uses 4 common ingredients that most people have in their home, it’s safe to say that this recipe isn’t a hard one to do. Stirring and keeping an eye on everything on the stove is key but as long as you’re aware, it should turn out just fine. Just make certain that you melt the butter and chocolate and you’ll be fine.

We make this all the time but it does seem to be super popular during the holiday season and of course, tastes amazing when our weekend snack attacks happen. The boys love that they can just grab a piece and go on about their day!

How long does it take for the toffee to harden?

Once it cools completely, it will be good to go! This will take about an hour or so of it being in the fridge.

Once you pour the toffee from the pan onto the parchment paper, that’s the start of the process to let it cool. (you can also use a prepared baking sheet as well to have it cool on, too)

What fun toppings can you add to homemade toffee?

If you want to add a little bit more flavor and taste, you can! Chopped pecans are always a good idea as is shredded coconut, too. You can even add some extra chocolate chips right on top for more chocolate flavor and texture.

Sea salt is also a great topper. I’ve heard that some people like to try and mix in peanut butter swirls as well which could always be a fun and tasty experiment later on down the road.
