RECIPE: Deep Fried Kool Aid

Here in Minnesota, the state fair is a big deal. There’s a huge assortment of deep fried foods, like fried candy bars, fried fruit, fried cheese curds, and much, much more.

I thought it would be fun to experiment with my own deep fried foods, so I decided to try making deep fried Kool Aid.

The trick to making deep fried Kool Aid is to make little raviolis out of fruit roll ups and carefully inject the Kool Aid inside.

After you batter and fry it up, you wind up with a fluffy, sweet, warm, gooey pocket of deliciousness. I think it takes kind of like a jelly donut, but way better.

  1. I saw deep fried koolaid on yahoo a couple weeks was from a fair but they mixed the koolaid in the batter and fried it like donuts..looked interesting but this is a whole different method..have you tried different flavors?
