We’re starting to work through the alphabet, doing projects along the way. I’ve found some great books at our local library including Art Across the Alphabet
Naturally, we’ll be starting with the letter A! Early in the summer, we read “10 Apples Up on Top” and Chipmunk fell in love with the book. In fact, she tries to act it out anytime she finds a pile of apples. Of course, this usually leads to some bruised apples. Yikes!
Well, there’s only thing to do with those bruised apples — cut them in half and make some apple prints! Let’s get started. 
What You Need:
- Apples, cut in half
- Red, Yellow, or Green Paint
- Paper
What You Do:
All set up!
We used a piece of card stock with the number 1-10 printed on it because we were also practicing counting. Any old piece of paper will work though!
I did a little sample paper for the girls to see — obviously our apples were too big, since we could only fit 8 on the page! Kind of defeats the whole counting thing. Oops!
Hand over the apples and let the fun begin!
