The more often I shop at my local Walgreen’s the more frustrated I get! So many of my online buddies get amazing deals at their Walgreen’s store, but I don’t do well at all. Why not? Because my Walgreen’s never has the sale items in stock.
Today, I arrived at my local Walgreen’s 10 minutes after they opened and was the ONLY customer there (wonder why) and they didn’t have any of the Keebler’s Club Crackers that were advertised in the ad this week. I was furious! So, I asked for a rain check only they can’t give a rain check for RRs… so I asked the guy to make the rain check for the price after RR and he couldn’t do that. So, I asked for the manager who was “sorry but since those were on sale last week”, they don’t have any. I called her on the lie and informed her that she was wrong… Keebler’s were NOT on sale last week.
Anyway, she wrote the rain check, but I am still irritated. ![]()

Ugh–I feel your pain! My Walgreens was the same way but recently has gotten slightly better. it’s so frustrating, to say the least! New follower via Super Stalker Sunday looking forward to future posts!

SO glad to know I am not the only one with a loser Walgreen’s LOL! I just feels like they are being so dishonest to have a big sale in the paper and then not have the supplies to honor the sale!
Sorry to hear about your experiences at Walgreens but I have never been to a more accomadating store,if they don’t have the item I have only had a problem once getting a rain check otherwise I have never had a problem and I get my scripts filled there every month so if I had a problem they certainly are not the only game in town.
you are right, they are not.
CVS is right across the street. LOL! But, they have good deals sometimes and it is frustrating not being able to take advantage of the deals because the manager doesn’t prepare.
I feel your pain. I went to Walgreens for a newspaper this morning, they sell them for $.99 instead of the $1.50 in the machine. I got there, mistakenly, 20 minutes before the store opened. (I hadn’t realized it was so early.) Cars scattered the parking lot and there was a LINE at the door! Ridiculous! I quickly left.
I doubt the manager is not prepared for these sales, it’s the HOARDERS (that call themselves “Extreme Couponers”) that are to blame!! Instead of buying what they need, they purchase every last one of a single item. Come on, can your family really eat ALL those boxes of Cheerios before they expire… I doubt it! It’s because of these HOARDERS, that stockpile things they’ll never be able to use all of, that people who just want to stretch a buck and save on their household goods can’t. I can cheerfully say that I use coupons, and I take my Walgreens ad to Walmart every week where they cheerfully price match the ad!
I used to get all my prescriptions filled at Walgreens and shop while I waited, using coupons and their ad. It felt so good to save, even if just a fraction of our monthly purchases. But it increasingly got to where they NEVER had the items I needed, no matter how early I arrived, or what day I arrived! Now, I drive thru to fill my prescriptions and after this morning, I will continue to do so until I transfer them elsewhere.
Walgreens needs to put a LIMIT on the number of one item an individual can purchase, so more of us frugal families can enjoy the savings or they’re doomed by other establishments that price match. That’s how I feel about it.
Oh no, honey… they didn’t have them because the manager didn’t order them. The clerk told me I was the first customer of the day.
I get very frustrated not finding the things on the shelves.
Recently they made a change and limited per family per day on purchases…and they will not allow you to do more than one transaction and use the RR’s you just earned from the first one on the 2nd one. (that’s a bad change)
Our managers will give you a raincheck for the price after RR’s are taken off though if they don’t get the product in. That is up to each store manager. We are lucky that way.
I’m waiting on those Expo markers from last week to come in. The manager told me that if they do not get any more in before the $3 coupons from their coupon booklet expire Aug 27, that he will still make it right with me and take that much more off of my raincheck.
how lucky for you!! Ours is horrible and I bet they wonder why CVS is PACKED on a Sunday morning and they aren’t.
