Chocolate Marble Loaf Recipe

Sharing is caring!

Just wait until you bake up and try this Chocolate Marble Loaf recipe. It’s such a moist and delicious marble loaf bread that I find myself craving this all the time. Luckily, whipping up this marble bundt cake isn’t hard at all. I’m a huge fan of bread recipes so this one is always at the top of my list.

This chocolate swirl loaf is perfect for a breakfast option or tastes really great after dinner as well.

One of my favorite parts of this chocolate marble bread recipe is that there’s actually cacao powder in it that is used to make up the swirls. This adds a tiny bit of sweetness when mixed with the other ingredients but it’s not overpowering at all.

Once you combine the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients, this recipe is literally as easy as preheating the oven and popping it in. The hardest part is going to be resisting from licking those chocolate batters that are going to be calling your name. LOL.

Just wait until the smell of this loaf recipe starts sifting through the house…Everyone is going to come running to the kitchen to get the first bite!

What’s the best way to let this loaf cool completely?

You can either let it cool in the pan or move it to a wire rack so that it cools off more quickly. I prefer the wire rack because there’s always a chance it will continue to cook for a little bit longer if left in a super hot pan.

Make certain to have a toothpick inserted in the middle to see if it’s done before taking it out of the oven. If it comes out clean, it’s ready to be pulled!

Are there any toppings that you can put on this marble pound cake?

While it’s totally good on its own, you can always add some whipped topping or even some fresh berries as well. Strawberries would be a great choice during the summer months!

Chocolate Marble Loaf Recipe

Yield: 1 loaf
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

This Chocolate Marble Loaf Recipe is so good!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup softened margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cacao powder sifted

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350 F.

Grease a 9” x 5” loaf pan and set aside.

Using an electric mixer, cream together the sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla and continuing mixing until well blended.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.

Now you can start adding the dry mixture and milk into the butter and sugar mixture but add just a little bit at a time to avoid big messes. Once the ingredients are wet, you can turn up your mixer and blend for about 2-3 more minutes.
Once the batter is ready, divide in half. Add the ¼ cup cacao powder to half the batter, but make sure you sift it beforehand, so it blends in well.

Now you’re ready to add the batter to the loaf pan. Put a layer of vanilla, followed by a layer of chocolate and then continue until the batter is used up. Then, using a knife, cut through the batter in a variety of patterns to create a marbled effect with the batter.

Bake on the middle rack of your oven for about 50-60 minutes. You’ll know when your loaf is done when you insert a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean.
