GIVEAWAY: Tea Collection $100GC

I’m really picky about what my kids wear, not to the extent where they must wear only brand names, but I want my kids to wear clothes that are going to last and that aren’t plastered with inappropriate images or words that reflect an attitude or behavior that I don’t want associated with my child. You know the ones, “Here comes trouble”, “Spoiled Rotten” and so on. Thankfully there are many lines of clothing out there to choose from. One of them being Tea Collection!

I have seen many blogs post about Tea Collection in the past and they have all had great things to say about them but, I like to try the product(s) out for myself before I officially form my own opinion or send someone to buy their clothes. So when we were approached by Tea Collection to do a review of their Modern Mexican inspired Holiday Highland Collection for the holiday season I was very excited, I love new clothes! (Wish they were for me and not my kids lol ;) )

I can tell you they didn’t disappoint! The sizing was perfect for each child and the you can feel the quality in the material right away. What I like most about the clothes is that, although they are part of a Holiday collection, you aren’t stuck wearing them only during Christmas. The dresses are so cute and the leggings are thick enough that my daughter can wear them all winter and stay warm. The Hector Rattler tee is the perfect shirt for L, and he wears it the moment it comes out of the wash, it’s his first pick now. Which is a sure sign of how comfortable these clothes are!

With styles for newborn to 12 years old, these clothes do not disappoint. Although it’s a bit late to buy for this Christmas, the styles are still perfect for the winter season! (I saved a few of the pieces I was sent as Christmas gifts for kids ;) , shhh don’t tell! )

You can purchase items directly from the website and have it shipped or use the handy store locator to find a retailer near you :)

I tried to get pics of my kids wearing the clothes for this post, but they were being very uncooperative on the times I remembered to pull out my camera in the busyness of this time of year and with a newborn in the house.

Now, who wants to win a $100 GC to buy some of this great clothing?

About Their New Color Lines

Fall Fever includes:  Defense Deep red: a rich bordeaux with a mystifying matte finish, Balance Brick: a modern maroon with body and balance, and Nobel Navy: a sea-at-dusk shade that reflects lights and brings dimension to tips and toes alike.

Jolly & Joy includes:  Revive Ruby Red: a shimmer-infused, Wizard of Oz-inspired shade of crimson, Passion Purple: a bombshell-boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout, Essential Emerald: a take on the classic tree-and-plant-inspired gem of a shade, with delicate glimmer and unparalleled amounts of glamour, Serene Silver Glitter: a seasonal sizzler like no other; shine, chic, totally unique in the metallic scene, and Resolution Red Glitter: a red-meets-copper spin that’s sequin-look-alike laden with high-shine and sparkle.

My Thoughts

I love these nail polishes!  I love that I can let my girls paint theirs or my nails and if it gets on my skin, it’s not a big deal!  The bottles are a lot bigger than the ones you would buy at a store, so you’re getting considerably more for a much better product!  It also stays on for a good amount of time without looking chipped.  I had my toenails painted (my four-year-old did it) two weeks ago and they still look fantastic!  As for my favorite colors, I prefer the Glitters for the pure fun of it, but I also really like the Ruby Red and the Balance Brick.  All of the colors have great coverage with just one layer-except Emerald!  But, it’s such a pretty color you won’t mind putting the second coat on!  All-in-all I thoroughly recommend these products!

Buy it!

You can buy them at the store here for $14-17 each.  Or you can buy them on sale from Black Friday to Cyber Monday!  They are all $14 with free shipping for those three days!  Great deal!

*Disclaimer:  I was provided products by Dr.’s Remedy.  I was not compensated for my thoughts, they are my ver own!*

How to Choose Stylish AND Supportive Swimsuit Styles

As mothers, finding the right swimsuit can be a difficult and daunting task.  These days, it seems that all of the supportive and figure-flattering swimsuits look exactly the same; they’re always featured in dark solid colors and have little to no detail or embellishment.  As a swimsuit industry insider, I’m here to say that you no longer have to settle and choose between fashion and function, support and style.  Read on to learn how…

Tummy Control

With our busy schedules, many of us don’t always have time to hit the gym in preparation for swimsuit season, and for many of us, the tummy is a major problem area.  One of the easiest ways to create the illusion of a slimmer torso is to choose swimsuit styles with tummy control.  As a rule of thumb, the higher the Lycra Spandex count, the better the support.  But if you hate the tight, fitted feeling of body control swimsuits, you can get a similarly slimming effect by choosing a swimsuit with certain design details; for example, swimsuit styles with ruching, smocking and shirred fabric along the torso will instantly slim your tummy.

Bust Support

Let’s face it—our “girls” sometimes need some extra support and many swimsuit styles just don’t cut it.  Underwire tops are by far the most supportive swimsuit tops around.  Like a bra, underwire swimsuit tops help boost your bosom.  But although they’re the most supportive, you shouldn’t feel limited to wearing only underwire tops.  Halter tops, especially those with thicker underbands, are also very supportive for your bust.  Unlike triangle tops and traditional bandeaus, the thicker straps found on halter swimsuit styles offer amazing support.  But if you hate the tan lines on your chest, don’t dismiss those bandeaus altogether.  If they have underwire and/or removable straps, bandeau swimsuit styles can be surprisingly supportive.  Feel free to remove the straps while sunbathing, but don’t forget to put them back on before you go running after your little ones!

One-Piece or Two-Piece?

Many women debate between wearing one-pieces or two-pieces, but you should never feel limited to wearing the same old swimsuit styles.  Both one-pieces and two-pieces come in a variety of styles that can work for all different body types.  One-pieces can have very different necklines, back cuts and more.  On the other hand, a two-piece swimsuit doesn’t always have to mean skimpy bikini.  Two-pieces can also include tankinis, which vary greatly in style.  Some tankini tops fit snugly against your body while others feature a chic loose-fitting A-line shape.  But for those who want the best of both worlds, try a cut-out one-piece, also known as a monokini swimsuit.  Although they differ in design, style and coverage, many monokini swimsuit styles feature amazing front coverage and support, perfect for hiding a not-so-toned tummy.

This season, throw out the rule books and try out some new swimsuit styles.  Who knows—you may just find your new go-to style!

Review: Dr.’s Remedy Nail Polish

I have four little girls, so good nail polish is incredibly important to us!  I was thrilled to try out Dr.’s Remedy to see what I thought!

My Thoughts

I got FIVE different colors in the mail and they are ALL awesome!  I was just hoping for some pretty polishes that would strengthen my unhealthy nails and I got so much more!  They are big bottles!  We’re not talking the $1 Wet n Wilds by any means!  They are .5 fl oz.  They have Tea Tree Oil, Vitamins, and Wheat Protein!  They have NO Dibutylphthalate, Toluene, or Formaldehyde!  We opened them up and although they still have the nail polish smell, it isn’t strong at all!  I was able to paint mine and all four of my girls’ nails and there was no after smell!  I was comfortable even painting my baby’s nails, because there weren’t all of those harsh chemicals!  I just painted her toenails (while she was sleeping).  I still wouldn’t suggest painting baby/toddler’s fingernails, especially if they suck their thumb, but my 2-year-old (resident thumb-sucker) did have her nails painted and the thumb she sucks is now paint-less.  So, you can use it as a deterrent to help stop thumb-sucking (because they’ll lose their nail color).  The colors are very vibrant!  My nails are already feeling stronger and healthier (after only a week)!  I LOVE them!

My daughter’s nails, using all of the colors to make flowers.

Buy it!

They are $17 each here.
