My Thoughts

I love these nail polishes! I love that I can let my girls paint theirs or my nails and if it gets on my skin, it’s not a big deal! The bottles are a lot bigger than the ones you would buy at a store, so you’re getting considerably more for a much better product! It also stays on for a good amount of time without looking chipped. I had my toenails painted (my four-year-old did it) two weeks ago and they still look fantastic! As for my favorite colors, I prefer the Glitters for the pure fun of it, but I also really like the Ruby Red and the Balance Brick. All of the colors have great coverage with just one layer-except Emerald! But, it’s such a pretty color you won’t mind putting the second coat on! All-in-all I thoroughly recommend these products!

Makeup Made Easy for Busy Moms

Being a mom means getting up early, showers, making school lunches, combing hair, cleaning up messes, searching for lost socks, shoes, homework, and back packs; then there is the last minute dash to school.

But wait.

Whatever happened to the hour you once had to become beautiful before you left the house? It seems time has been lost. Laundry has to be washed and put away; dishes have to be run; work has to be done; groceries have to be bought; food has to be prepared; and sometimes the van needs a good scrubbing. Being a busy mom means finding the time to put on makeup and do your hair amidst the chaos and it isn’t easy.

Makeup Tips:

*One of the most beautiful things a woman can have is great skin. Put on a good moisturizer at night before bed and in the morning be sure to apply a foundation with SPF to protect skin from sun damage. It only takes a few minutes to apply foundation, and it can be done before you drag the kids out of bed.

*Who says makeup has to stay in the bathroom? Keep a small makeup holder in your purse with just the basics: powder, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, and lip color/gloss. You can prep in the kitchen while you toast bread if need be.

*Stick with simple makeup techniques. More doesn’t mean better. Foundation covers discoloration and mild blemishes; powder eliminates shine; a thin line of eyeliner on upper lash line helps eyes pop; a thin application of a single color eye shadow on the lid can amplify eye color. It is not necessary to spend an hour applying makeup to look great. All it takes is a few minutes.

*Keep a hair brush, lip gloss, and mascara in the glove box. Do NOT apply makeup while driving. We see women doing it all the time, but common sense tells us it is dangerous! But after dropping kids off at school, it is easy to sit for a few minutes and apply finishing touches to shine up lips and lengthen lashes.

*Invest in a makeup compact that has it all. You’ve seen them: the all-in-one makeup compact with eye shadow, blush, mascara, lip color, and eye liner can be a mom’s best friend on the busiest days.

*Take five. No matter how busy you are, you can spare five minutes to apply foundation, powder, mascara, and lip color. Set your timer and make it a game. You might be surprised by how much can be done by simply paying attention to the time.

Why Try?

Being a mom doesn’t mean you have to look unprepared for the world. It only means that you have to incorporate techniques that help you take advantage of the small amount of time you have. Motherhood is beautiful; looking your best as a mom can be tough, but it makes you feel better. Just because our focus has shifted towards our lovable, albeit messy and time-consuming offspring, does not mean we have to forget about ourselves.

My Thoughts

I tried this out on my legs and it looked like concealer on my leg, but it absolutely covered my little spider veins and was comfortable! It didn’t feel”cakey” at all, more like lotion. It is very much worth using it if you want to wear those shorts or skirts that may show off something you don’t want seen on your legs (or arms). If I had a tattoo, I would use it to cover it!
