Howdy! I’m Ashley, mom to two lovely kiddos with one more on the way! I am married to my fantastic husband of nearly 5 years, and we live in rural Nebraska in the middle of a corn field. I like to say my neighbors are great listeners—they’re all ears!
Emma turns four in March and is a bundle of princess and queen all in one. She is very much Daddy’s little girl, and she knows it! With dance class, preschool, and being a big sister, she’s always a busy little bee. Her favorite things to do are play learning games online and using her imagination to create fun scenarios!
Micah is our sweet little boy. He is a very affectionate little man, but we are seeing his terrible twos emerge! He will turn two in March, and it shows sometimes! But whenever I hear “I love you, Mom!” it never fails to melt my heart. Micah loves farm life, and he is happiest riding in the John Deere with Daddy and mooing at the neighbors’ cows.
Maisy is our third child that we’re still waiting to meet! She is due in early May, and we are so very excited and ready to see what a third child brings to our family dynamic.
Andrew, my husband, is a true computer genius. He works for the local public school district as the Systems Administrator in the IT department. He is a very hands-on dad, and loves giving piggy back rides around the house to our little munchkins. He works so hard so that I can stay home with our growing brood, and I love him to bits for it!
I am most often found working on my blog or networking with other moms. I love doing crafts with my kids, and watching their minds go wild. I am a somewhat awful cook in that I stick to what works and fear the unknown in the culinary world! I do my best though, and hey—there’s no shame in using Betty Crocker from time to time! When it comes to parenting, I like to pick and choose bits of different parenting philosophies that work best for us. As a mom of little bitties, I know there are a lot of tough choices that come along with giving life and raising infants. My theory is that as long as baby and mom are healthy and happy, then you’re doing a-okay!
As a family, we love to spend time together outside on the farm. The kids love the space, and I love the views! I love sitting outside munching on fruit while the kids play in their pools and have a blast. We are about 20 minutes away from the nearest city (where Andrew works), but are in town often. The library is my favorite place to take the kids when the weather is yucky. I love reading to my kids and watching them “read” the book back to me.
I am originally from South Texas, and my whole side of the family lives there currently. It’s hard being far away from them, but thanks to Skype and Facebook, we are able to stay in touch easily! I often wonder how people managed to live far from loved ones before the dawn of technology. We’re fortunate, though, that Andrew’s family lives just a few hours away, so we see them often. Andrew and I’s parents love our kids so very much, and we really enjoy watching their relationships bloom.
