Whether you’re on a budget, or maybe you just like to save money, a lot of us like to keep our bodies in shape. Whether you’re looking for ways to lose weight, or keep your body toned, I wanted to show you 5 tips that I have used on a monthly basis, that not only are free, but keep me in great shape!
Tip #1 Look for walking paths
Many areas have walking paths that are not only built for walking, but they have exercise equipment along the way. Known as a circuit, you can walk the designated paths, do exercises as you walk along, and feel refreshed just about every time. A great way to find these is either by searching online for “circuit walks paths” or even looking at public parks.
Tip #2 Research free exercises
You don’t need a $2,000 treadmill to keep in shape. What you will find that if you Google something along the lines of, “Free exercises”, you’re going to come up with thousands of ideas that you can not only use in the comfort of your own home, but outdoors as well. From stretches to cardio, you should be able to find it all.
Tip #3 Look for freebies
Yes, you can find free exercise equipment, but you just need to know where to look. For example, if you check out the freebie section on Craigslist, you can find some great equipment that people just want to get rid of. Whether they are moving, or they just want a new one, many just throw it to the curb. You have to be fast, because goo deals go fast.
Tip #4 Just walk around your neighborhood
Walking burns a lot of calories, and many people don’t realize this. Running with simple little weights can be more than enough. If you live in a nice neighborhood, stretch before hand, pick up some smaller weights and go for a run. Try and make it a habit to do it at least every other day. Things like this take motivation, and if you don’t have it, you probably won’t reach your goal!
Tip #5 Create your own exercise equipment
If you’re creative, there are so many things that you can do, when it comes to losing weight. For example, you can use your stairs as a stair stepper, or you could use your local High School’s track to run around. You could use hills for cardio, and so much more. The key here is if you’re creative, it can take you a long way!
As you can see, there are so many steps that you can take when you want to work out for free. While you can go to the gym, or the local YMCA, you’re going to find that these places are going to cost you a good amount of money each month. Be sure to test out some of the tips above, so that you don’t have to spend a penny looking for ways to lose weight!
