Levi was beyond thrilled when we opened up the Radio Flyer 4 in 1 Trike and put it together for him to play with.
I love it because it’s a really long-lasting toy. One of the biggest bummers for me in investing in kids toys is that they outgrow them so quickly. That’s not the case with the Radio Flyer 4 in 1 Trike.
From 9 months to 5 years old, this 4-in-1 tricycle converts from a stroller to a steering trike, learning to ride trike and finally a classic trike and will bring years of riding enjoyment to your child.
The trike itself was really easy to put together. My husband Jason said the directions were great and easy to follow.
Levi, of course, wanted to help out. He loves playing with Daddy’s tool box.
Since Levi is just over a year, we set up the trike on the stage 2 setting – as a steering trike. We are able to push him from behind since his legs aren’t long enough to reach the pedals quite yet.
I appreciated the safety harness and how it kept him from sliding out of the seat. He’s fairly coordinated, but still a toddler and needs the extra safety feature.
He had a ton of fun “steering” himself. The front steering handle turns when you turn the back push-along bar, and he got a huge kick out of that.
I know that come spring, Levi will probably be able to reach the pedals so we’ll be able to take the back push bar off and let him use it as a learn-to-ride trike (we’ll keep the harness feature until we know he’s solid on using it safely). I’m sure it won’t be long at all before he’s cruising around on it as a regular tricycle!
