Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? If you know the answer to that one, you are definitely a child, or a parent. I don’t know about you, but I can sing along with that song very well, whether I want to or not. Why?Because I have two kids who are CRAZY about Spongebob Squarepants. So, it really made their day when we received a package from Nickelodeon to try out the Spongebob Squarepants Clam Catching Game!!!
This game is so cute! It’s like one of those fishing carnival games, where you hold the fishing pole and try to catch the fish. Except, in this game, you are trying to catch blue, white, and purple snapping clams. According to the box, the game is intended for ages 4 and up. It says also, that it is for 2-4 players, but I’ll tell you, both of my kids enjoyed playing it on their own too. Not much competition that way, but still fun for them. It requires 2 AA batteries which are not included, and comes with 4 “clam catchers” (aka fishing poles).
The point of the game is to be the person who catches the most clams. However, it’s also fun to see who can catch all the clams of each color – great for helping those little ones learn their colors too (the blue & purple aren’t too far off from each other). My son even tried to see how long it took him to catch all of the clams – I’m afraid he was interrupted before that fact was found. Maybe next time.
You can pick up one of these games for your Spongebob fans at the Nickelodeon “Nick Shop”, Amazon, and Toys R Us, among others. Definitely a fun game for Family Game Night, rainy summer days, or play dates. Don’t forget to sing all the Spongebob songs you can think of while you’re waiting your turn.
