These two books: How to Use a Dictionary: Picture Book for Children and Learning How to Learn, are both based on the Works of L. Ron Hubbard. They are awesome resources for helping children learn! They say they are for ages 8-12, but I think that parents could help their children that are younger!

About the Books (from Amazon’s website)
The basics of effective study for 8- to 12-year olds, fully illustrated. Children who read and apply the materials in this book regain their enthusiasm for study and their ability to apply this knowledge in life. Get this book for a child you want to see win at his studies!
In learning any subject, whether at school or in life, children are frequently blocked from understanding.
These confusions are amplified by a child not using, or not knowing how to use a dictionary. Being able to use a good dictionary is a vital skill in a child’s studies for the rest of her life.
How to use a Dictionary Picture Book for Children gives a child the know-how to use a dictionary in easy-to-read text and illustrations, enabling children to effectively comprehend what they read. Suitable for children from 8 to 12 years old.
My Thoughts
I love Learning How To Learn, because it tells three barriers to studying and how to get past them, using pictures and basic information. Awesome! It may be for kids, but it certainly helps my husband and I as college students to see what barriers are causing problems for us in our studies. There is also information for parents and teachers which are very helpful! How to Use a Dictionary is very interesting, because it starts off saying that you should work together with someone else to read this book to make “it easier and more fun.” It tells what dictionaries are, how to find words, pronunciation, forms of words, marks and symbols, how words are defined and more! It is fantastic!
About the Author
With 19 New York Times bestsellers and more than 230 million copies of his works in circulation, L. Ron Hubbard is among the most acclaimed and widely read authors of our time. As a leading light of American Pulp Fiction through the 1930s and ’40s, he is further among the most influential authors of the modern age. Indeed, from Ray Bradbury to Stephen King, there is scarcely a master of imaginative tales who has not paid tribute to L. Ron Hubbard.
