Blogging Basics: Reader Survey Results and Winner

BloggingBasics thumb Blogging Basics: Reader Survey Results and WinnerA few weeks ago, during my Blogging Basics post, we discussed running a reader survey.  This week, we are going to talk about analyzing those results and doing something with them.  Then, I will tell you who won the 25 dollar Amazon gift card!

I must admit, I am very shocked at the results of my reader survey!  I had 87 unique responses to the survey and have included some of the charts below:ChartExport 1 thumb Blogging Basics: Reader Survey Results and Winner

Numbers one and two of the most favorite features at 3 Boys and a Dog do not surprise me, what does surprise me is the number of people that chose Blogging Basics as their favorite feature at 3 Boys and a Dog!  That really makes me feel good because I try really hard to bring y’all information that you need to be a better blogger!  Remember, if you would like me to cover something during my blogging basics post each week, please drop me an email and I will get it slotted in!  I will also give you credit for your question!

**Advice: Really think about the results of your survey and understand that typically the number of people that actually take the survey represent a very small portion of your actual readers.  With that said, I am NOT getting rid of any of my features, unless I don’t want to do them anymore.  It is easy enough for you guys to just skip over them when they show up in your inbox or reader.

Least Favorites really blew my mind!  Blogging Basics was again the third in most chosen answers!  The guest posts got the most answers and Menu Plan Monday was pretty high up there.  I am really curious as to why people chose the features they did.  I have had so many people tell me they love the guest posts that I include on a weekly basis and now, this survey shows differently.  Hmmm… what to think.

**  Again, really think about the readership… MPM might be my 2nd least favorite feature at 3 Boys and a Dog, but it gets more visitors than any other feature (excluding giveaways)!

Thanks so much! I am so glad to know that my readers value my thoughts and opinions and that they matter when purchasing!

Not shown here, but MANY people wrote that they would like to see coupons, freebies, discounts, and coupon match ups at 3 Boys and a Dog.  I took your suggestions and requests to heart and amazon winner thumb Blogging Basics: Reader Survey Results and Winnerspent sometime the past few weeks developing my brand new Deals site!  I hope you start taking advantage of it!

Kelli, what interesting survey results. Crazy that MPM brings you so many views (me too) yet your readers are not digging it as a whole. Something to consider would be people reading the MPM are readers looking for meal plan ideas because they came over from Org Junkie, where direct readers may not care for it. Does that make sense?

Blogging Basics, I have been meaning to ask you for a tutorial on making sense of Google Analytics. All the info just kinda overwhelms me still after all this time. And sometimes, I just do not know how to make heads or tales of the info.
