In addition to all the other things I do each day, I also run the mentoring program over at The Product Review Place.
So, What is a Mentor?
According to Dictionary.com: a mentor is a wise and trusted counselor or teacher.
That means, when we set you up with a mentor, the person is not going to do the work for you or give you all the answers. What they will do is guide you through the process, help you understand the basics of the blog world – examples: simple HTML and SEO, how to increase your readership and traffic, and basic blog etiquette. They will give you suggestions of what has worked for them and show you how to find the answers to your questions. In order to be a successful professional blogger, you don’t have to know everything – you have to know how to find the answers to everything.
How Does the Mentor and Mentee Relationship work?
A mentor will review your blog and give you a few tasks to complete each week. You will be expected to not only complete those tasks (your mentor will be available to help you with them if necessary), but will also be expected to spend some time helping your mentor improve their blog. How? It is pretty simple – RT their tweets, share their posts on FaceBook, comment on their posts, Digg, Stumble, Reddit, etc their posts. Anything you can do each week to help them will keep this relationship going.
What will being a mentee do for me?
Your mentor will help you learn to grow your stats and readers. Your mentor will help you to understand keyword links, visual appeal, alt text, and other basic SEO things. We will NOT give you review products or giveaway items. In fact, as a seasoned reviewer, I suggest you not even try to contact companies to do with reviews or giveaway for until you have a decent following and an established blog. J Your mentor will help you reach that point. When you get to the point where you feel comfortable in the Product Review world, then hopefully, you will come back and apply to be a mentor!

Nice post. I learn a lot from it.
My son-in-law just set up a blog for me. I haven’t really done anything with it yet mostly because of time. I do need to make a few changes and really study and learn from blog tutorials lie this one.
