I am busy! I live BUSY! I know it and you know it. This is the main reason I am doing the In The Kitchen With Kelli Series. To try some new time saving products and introduce them to my readers. Even though I am home all day about 6 days a week, it seems I am always in a rush to get dinner on the table and want to provide my kids with healthy meals. Thanks to Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice, my evenings have just gotten a little easier!

According to their site, Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice is the first and only whole grain rice that looks and tastes like white rice. You know what, I agree. LOL! I can not tell a difference in this rice and other plain white rice. How awesome is that? The best thing? It only takes 10 minutes to cook this rice!
Mom Central and Uncle Ben’s sent me a couple of this full-sized aprons and several boxes of rice to share with my family and friends. Due to the amount of time I spend on the internet, YOU are my friends. So, I am offering one reader a chance to win 3 boxes of Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice (available in most grocery stores in July 2010) and their very own apron!
To Win – REQUIRED:
Leave a comment telling me your favorite white rice recipe! The name, a link to it, anything! I want to try some new things with my rice.

REQUIRED ENTRY:
My Grandma use to make this for my mom and her siblings when they were growing up and then my mom made it for us and I now make it for my family. It’s called Ruined Meat, and it got it’s name from my Moms sister who didn’t like this dish. She’s crazy! I love it =) Here’s the recipe.
YOU’LL NEED:
1 pound stew meat ( cut into bite size chunks)
3tb flour
3tb olive oil
1/2ts salt
1/8ts pepper
3 beef bouillon cubes
3 cups water
HOW TO:
Melt oil in a large frying pan. Mix together in a bag meat, flour, salt and pepper. SHAKE WELL! Dump covered meat into the hot olive oil and let brown (approx 5 minutes) mix bouillon cubes and hot water, pour over meat and bring to a boil. reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Once done, make approx 3 cups Uncle Ben’s rice, after rice is cooked stir into the meat mixture and serve!
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I like shredded bbq chicken and rice.
I love rice, it is my favorite carb. My normal standard white rice starts with sauteeing the dry rice in some butter or oil and then adding chicken stock as the liquid. This makes tasty plain rice. Growing up my favorite rice side dish was prepared similarly but carrot pieces would be sauted in the butter before adding the rice. It was the only way I ate cooked carrots! Where I come from rice is big, and there are many seafood based dishes that I miss!
Definitely fried rice! IT’s so easy to make and you can put in anything.
