CONTEST DAY 14: Elmer’s 40 Days of Earth-Friendly Living

40 Days LogoStop Car Idling

How did you do yesterday? Did you remember to link up yesterday’s contest submission?

Elmer’s is making it easier to be eco-friendly on Earth Day – and beyond. To coincide with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Elmer’s is inviting parents to get involved in the Elmer’s Glue Crew through the “40 Days of Earth-Friendly Living.” The campaign kicks-off on Earth Day (today) and offers a 40-day calendar of eco-friendly tips and ideas for parents and children to do together.

MAY 5th – Day #14

Cars that idle for more than 30 seconds produce air pollution!  Cut down pollution and conserve fuel by turning off your car instead of idling!

Mom Says: When?  Traffic jams, school lines, sitting at the store waiting on someone, etc.  I HATE turning my car off because it gets down-right hot in Southern Alabama, but honestly I can handle it for a short period of time, and it IS better for the environment! :-)

Be sure to link your post, etc up below!

I will be posting each daily activity as well as a Mck Linky.  You should write a blog post, facebook post, Whrrl photo book, YouTube video, Twitter, etc of what you are doing and include it in the linky.   At the end of the 40 days, I will randomly choose one person (via Random.org) to win this awesome backpack of Elmer’s goodies

EGCprize

How is that for going green, involving your family, and possibly winning a little something.  Plus, you get to leave your links somewhere. :-) Just can’t beat this contest, can you?

Be sure your link is a direct link to the post, tweet, facebook post, etc o each day’s challenge!  You may come back each day to add your new daily link.

*LINKY WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL JUNE 1st at MIDNIGHT*  THE LINKY’S ON EACH DAILY POST WILL BE THE EXACT SAME ONE*

    Alaina Frederick says:

So many do not even think about the idling of their cars – especially when waiting in a drop off/pick up line.

I actually wrote about this a while ago on my site about when I stepped out of my box and actually asked a bus driver to turn off the bus van instead of letting it just run for 20 minutes
