Man, oh man! I am a computer girl. I use my outlook quite often, especially for blog things. But, it just doesn’t do enough. So, when I was given the opportunity to test Amy Knapp’s InFocus Digital Family Organizer, I wondered if this would finally be THE thing I was looking for!
Features:
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly Calendar – you can set reminders for recurring appointments, events, birthdays, and more.
- To Do List – again, you can make one-time tasks, or recurring daily, weekly, monthly tasks. Great for your housekeeping list!
- Bills – list your bills, their due date, how much is due, and how much you have paid! Great way to budget!
- Contact List – Pretty obvious.
Keep all of your contacts in one place. - Menus – Import or manually add your recipes and easily drag and drop your meals into the correct day. You can even search online for recipes straight from your dashboard!
- Grocery List – Easily make and print your shopping list straight from your menu! You can even search for coupons straight from your dashboard!
- Sticky Note – if you have something you need to remember that isn’t date oriented, shopping list, or to do task; then the sticky note is perfect!
Mom Says: I really like all the features and think it is a fabulous resource that everyone needs. Shoot, before I sell you all on this, maybe I should see if they have an affiliate program. LOL! Gotta be better than my 2 cents a month from google adsense.
CONS:
- Slow – I don’t know if it is my computer or the current version, but the program is really slow when doing certain things. When I open it, it takes forever to open all the way and when I add a recurring task, it takes a very long time to switch to the next window. One time, it was so slow it even locked up my computer.
- Setting it up – In order to have Amy Knapp’s Digital Family Organizer actually work for you, you are going to have to spend tons of time getting your information into it.
- Yearly Subscription – You must purchase a yearly subscription to use the Organizer. It isn’t expensive, but I would rather spend more on it once. Just my personal opinion.
Mom Says: I know that Amy said they are working on an update to the program, maybe some of the above will be addressed in that version.
Mom Says: Girls, I really like this application. I have been super busy, so have only been able to input enough to test it, but I have set up a recurring task to spend 15 minutes a day adding more to the program!
