Ok, seriously… the junk mail companies need to get on the ball! I don’t know about you, but I am sick to death of junk in my mailbox! Most of my bills are paid online, I get sale notices online, yet the credit card and life insurance companies are determined to fill my mail box. Why is that?
Did You Know:
The Direct Marketing Association, a trade group of 3,600 direct marketers and mail order companies, reports that marketers will spend nearly $56 billion on direct mail and catalogs in 2007, which will generate an estimated $700 billion in sales. That translates into an average of 26 pieces of mail a week for each household, according to the United States Postal Service’s Household Diary of 2006.
Twenty-six pieces of junk mail a week per household!! That is 4.33 pieces of junk mail on each of the 6 days the mail runs! I believe it! I am sure I get at least 4.33 pieces of junk a day. What about you?
Look what that translates to:
According to the WildWest Institute, an estimated 100 million trees are destroyed each year to produce 4.5 million tons of junk mail, with 44 percent of that thrown away unopened.
Well, I am helping to fix the problem! Thanks to Pankaj Shah GreenDimes, I am putting a stop to junk in my mailbox! Follow 3 simple steps to eliminate 70 – 90% of your junk mail! Check out Mr. Shah’s GreenDimes for more information!
Don’t know about you, but to me this is WELL WORTH it if it helps me make the world better for my kids.
Thanks to my friends at GreenDimes for sponsoring this post!

Actually I do use paper towels and toilet paper but the ones I buy are made from recycled materials.
I do not subscribe to a newspaper, though.

Thank you for the information. We don’t get an over abundance of junk mail since I wrote, phoned or did something a number of years ago. This will be helpful should it begin anew.
P. S. I trust you do not use paper towels either. lololol
