I know I was! One thing I always forget to do is switch the way my ceiling fans run! So, before writing this, I jumped up and changed direction.
Did you know that in the summer time you are supposed to make your ceiling fan spin counter-clockwise and in the winter it should spin clockwise?
See? The proof is in the picture. LOL! By following the simple diagram, you can keep your rooms warmer and make your heater run less.
Now, I only have fans in 3 rooms so I guess I need to start asking for fans for Christmas, birthdays, anniversary, etc to get a fan in each room. LOL!
Oh my goodness! I love this Hunter Baseball Fan from Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans!
Isn’t it just the cutest for my boys’ room? Besides, you just can’t beat wholesale prices for the general public. LOL!
*Thanks to Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans for sponsoring this post and providing the images*

I actually never knew this! I do not use my fans in the winter, but my husband will use the upstairs fan when he sleeps upstairs…not because I kicked him out of bed……
……..but because he created a dark room for sleeping during the day since he works midnight shift! I guess I will have to go upstairs and see which way it is running. I wonder how much money that would save. Thanks for sharing this tidbit!
Funny…. I knew that but still never switched it.

Or if you live in AZ then you have bi-polar weather and you never change it because one day in January it’s 70 and the next day it’s in the 50s. I did change my fans though when I lived in Albuquerque when it mattered.

WOW! This is a great tip I never knew it mattered. No I just have to figure out how to change the direction. Although I rarely use my ceiling fan in the winter but it is always chillier downstairs so I guess that might help! TheBlog Frog loves this tip! Thanks for being such a awesome blogger!!
@Ashley,
On the round section where your switches are, you should feel a little button. Switch it either up or down. Be sure to turn the fan off first to avoid getting your fingers caught. LOL!
That’s great! I have my Huge Selection of Ceiling fans Styles and Types.
