When Victoria of Rocket XL asked me to participate in the T.J Maxx and Marshalls Secret Santa project, my first thought was, “Shopping? On your dime? How on earth can I not?? DUH!” LOL! T.J. Maxx is just not somewhere I go shopping very often. The closest one is about 40 minutes away down a VERY busy highway. Hint, hint… build me one closer!
So, I went armed with my mom, her two exchange students, my gift cards, and my camera. BTW, have you ever taken pictures in a store?? The people look at you like you are all crazy and stuff!
Plus, due to the lighting (and my severe lack of picture-taking knowledge) the pictures
didn’t turn out very well.
So, I am someone’s Secret Santa and I am shopping away to find them a gift. “Does she want some yummy bath goodies?” Oh wait, I am supposed to be shopping for me, too… “do I want some yummy bath goodies?” Come on, they named the display “Gift That Pamper!’ You know that pulled me in! I am a mom of three little boys, I need to be pampered. But, alas, I kept looking. After all, I had just gotten in the store.
Here is mom in her element!
I thought of getting some pretty platters but didn’t want to have to deal with the shipping of the heavy things.
Anyway, after taking pictures all over the store and really just plain acting silly, here is what I purchased.
-
An ADORABLE pair of pajamas ($16.99)
-
2 Boxes of Moose Munch (by Harry & David… if you have never tried this, you are SERIOUSLY missing out!) ($5.99 each)
-
A box of peanut butter filled, chocolate covered pretzels (sorry, I was a bit hungry LOL) ($5.99)
-
A delish smelling Sugar Cookie candle (for Ricky, actually) ($4.99)
-
A wild set of pajamas ($16.99)
-
A 3-part divided desk tray ($5.99)
-
A toy for her Kitty ($1.49)
Grand Total – da du dum da… $76.75 after tax and all!! So, I went over my budget. LOL! I was sent $25 for me and $25 for her, but I am very happy with my purchases and totally wish T.J. Maxx was not so far away. Oh and in case you want to know, if I had bought the pajamas at a Department Store they would have cost me $28.00 each!
Finally, to help keep (possibly get) you in the holiday spirit and just as a reminder to all why off-price is the better way to Christmas shop on any budget, Marshalls and T.J. Maxx have joined together for a "Carol-oke" contest. One lucky person will win a $5,000 holiday shopping spree – just for singing their favorite holiday tune! You can find the contest on YouTube’s specially-created "Caroling Channel", www.youtube.com/jointhecarolers. There, you can select from one of three carols, create your own "Carol-oke" video and upload for entry into the contest. For each off-price "Carol-oke" video that is uploaded, a charity donation will be made. Please feel free to check out the site and spread the word!
P.S. Not to freak anyone out or anything, but… CHRISTMAS IS IN EIGHT DAYS!

You’re scaring me!! Luckily I know where I’m going to do 80% of my holiday shopping (hint hint!). Thanks for sharing your finds !:)
