Nature Friend magazine is a children’s magazine the whole family, including the grandparents, can enjoy. We publish twelve issues per year, six of which are gently nudged towards the older family members. There are many ways readers may participate–we want your art, photographs, stories, puzzles and poems. Besides the various submissions used each month, we have an annual readers’ issue that is compiled from your submissions, cover-to-cover.
Nature Friend magazine, begun in 1983, was first published by the Stanley Brubaker family of Goshen, Indiana. It was born out of Mr. Brubaker’s desire to encourage children to believe in God as their Creator and to seek out, recognize, and appreciate His handiwork
Mom Says: As you know, I have a Theistic Belief… I believe in God but I don’t believe in Creationism. Nature Friend Magazine is a Creationist magazine. I didn’t have a problem reviewing the magazines with my kids and answering their many questions, but I will not be getting a subscription. I believe in Evolution and the other scientific proof that I have seen throughout my life and find this magazine to be misleading to my children. With that said, I totally understand that my beliefs are just that, mine! I also completely understand that MANY Christians believe in Creationism and have a very difficult time finding Science resources that support their beliefs. For them, I say, “Work it into your budget! This is a very well written magazine full of color and interesting data!”
