I was sent 5 eBooks to review as part of The Crew! I am going to break down each one, so bear with me during this long post.
Genevieve is a little shepherdess with a big imagination. When she finds a sad pale rainbow, she tells him funny stories until he cries happy tears and his colors return. Genevieve’s sheep are caught in the colorful rain of tears and become the “Rainbow Sheep.” 24 pages, 17 fiber art illustrations. Four full instructional pages of Felting for Fun fiber activities for kids! Suggested age range for readers: 4 years (read to by a parent) to 10 years (reading alone).
Mom Says: I thought this book was super cute, unfortunately my kids didn’t really share my opinion.
Tank is just too young to sit and listen and Tripp and Zack felt it was for babies. I suggest it for a 5 year old. My 7 and 9 year old boys are reading thing like Harry Potter & The Witch of Blackbird Pond.
Flora and Fernando are the wrong color for flamingos. They wonder what they could be until they discover becoming pink can take a year, and staying pink is due to their diet. At last relieved, they draw funny pictures of how they might look if they ate broccoli or blueberries. Suggested age for readers: 3 (read to age) to 9 (read alone)
Mom Says: This was very silly book, again with language for a young child (approx 5 years old). But, it also taught me and the boys very interesting things that we did not know! On the bright side, Tripp wants to learn more about Flamingos! I feel a project coming on. Whoo-Hoo! LOL!
Learning the bones in the human body can be a challenge for anyone. Using this clever learning tool in rhyme may be just what you’ve been looking for, no bones about it. You’ll be amazed at how fast you will be able to learn them from head to toe. Study the bones, find fun factoids, take the quiz, discover the mystery bones. Suggested age for readers: ages 8-13
Mom Says: We really liked this book! We are studying the Human Body this year and No Bones About It was a great added resource to reinforce what we already learned. In fact, this is the ONLY book that we printed out so we could easily read it again and again.
Tripp loved the “Factoids.”
When Andy takes equine therapy, he learns how to cope with his disabilities and searches for ways to get along with a bully at school. By learning about the horse and its own handicaps, Andy begins to see hope for himself and his future. 4 pages of horse educational facts included.
Mom Says: I liked the actual story and really loved that it gave us many other resources to check out to find out about Wild Horses and 4-H Clubs. *A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book are sent to www.healingreins.org *
“Stubby’s Destiny” is an inspirational story about a defeated donkey, Stubby, who feels he was born wrong. He was just about to give up when divine destiny tapped him on the shoulder. He was chosen to carry the King of Kings upon his back. “Stubby’s Destiny” will bring hope to hurting children who feel their situation is hopeless.
STUBBY’S DESTINY won The Award for Literary Excellence in Best Children’s Animal Story category.
Mom Says: I loved that this story helps kids to realize their strengths instead of their weaknesses.
Overall Mom Says: I am actually very happy with the books from Guardian Angel Publishing! Granted, I am not crazy about eBooks, but I do see where they are better to have in some instances.
