My Reader Puts a Spin on a Post!

I love when I learn that people are actually reading my blog! icon smile My Reader Puts a Spin on a Post!   Remember the guest post on Halloween Costumes earlier this month by Kim (now a contributor)?  Well, I just got an awesome email from a reader about that post:

GrantFallFestival My Reader Puts a Spin on a Post!Hi Kelli,
I ran across your blog several weeks ago and fell in love with the bull riding costume.  So, I made one for my 4 yr old.  It was a hit at his pre-school fall festival.  Very unique and creative. Thanks for the great idea.
Regards,
Kendra

When I asked her if I could use her pictures or if she had a blog post I could link to, here is what she said:

I don’t have a blog.  I just lurk on other people’s blogs and use their ideas.smile teeth My Reader Puts a Spin on a Post!  Sure, you can use my pictures.  I didn’t use spray paint on mine because I waited until the last minute and did not want the box to smell.  I wrapped it in white paper and glued felt pieces all over the top.  I did smear craft paint on the boots.  I also cut the top off of a pair of jeans and hot glued them to the top.  It was easier for me to let him wear jeans instead of bull legs.  That way the teachers could just take the box off and he wouldn’t need to change clothes.  By the time I got to the festival, the bull was missing the nose from his face.  But everyone got to see and enjoy it before his untimely demise.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hearing from my readers!  Did something inspire you?  Are you loving a contest win?  Email me about it and include pictures.  You just might make it on my blog!

Isn’t Kendra’s little one totally cute!?

Of course, the boys were in hog-heaven with all the goodies. icon smile Breyer’s YoCrunch Yogurt – Wrappers for Coupons!   They all liked the strawberry flavors best.  Zack LOVED the cheesecake flavor.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get to even taste one because Tripp, Zack, and Tank commandeered them before I got a chance. icon smile Breyer’s YoCrunch Yogurt – Wrappers for Coupons!   I love yogurt, though and have no problem purchasing them!

TOS Crew Review: Amazing Bible Timeline

bibletimelinemed TOS Crew Review: Amazing Bible TimelineAs a member of The Old Schoolhouse Crew, I was given the opportunity to review The Amazing Bible Timeline.  Unfortunately, I am not impressed!

OK, that is a bit harsh. LOL!  I think it is an amazing collection of information.  Due to the Religious Nature of this timeline, I can not really say yes or no for YOU to purchase this product.  Obviously, those with different beliefs might not want this in their home.  I encourage anyone interested in learning more about the timeline to check out their site: http://bibletimeline.net/bibletimeline_faq.html and do their own research.

Pros:

  1. Lots of information
  2. Good quality paper
  3. Slick covering to protect the printing

Cons:

  1. Customer Service Disappointing – Very snippy, almost rude, replies to concerns and questions – see where they wrote a piece in response to TOS Crew inquiries
  2. Printing much too small to easily read
  3. Too large for our Homeschool – books are better for us.  We do not have the wall space for something this big. (approximately 3 feet by 4 feet)

The Amazing Bible Timeline offers a 60 day money back guarantee.  You can purchase one timeline for $29.97 or two timelines for $49.97 plus shipping.

Oh no! I am not ready!

This weekend is Halloween.  Can you believe it?!?  Once Halloween is over with, it begins.  All you will hear is Christmas this, Christmas that.

I LOVE Christmas!  I love trying to find that perfect gift for someone.  I love getting the best deals on presents.  I love decorating.  I love baking Christmas cookies.  I love watching people open their presents.  I love it!

I don’t love being bombarded by commercials for gadgets and weird blankets with sleeves.  I don’t like the pressure of the countdown of days until Christmas.  I always get my shopping done long before others, but I still feel the pressure to buy, buy, buy with the countdown.  Even when I am done with everyone on my list, plus the few extra “just in case” presents, I still feel like I need to get more, more, more.

Oh man.  Just talking about his is making me realize I am just not ready.  Can we just enjoy Thanksgiving?

Now it’s your turn.  Are you ready?
