Holiday House Prep: Oct 20th – Oct 25th

Today I sat down and made a “must do list”.  It contains 3 items I simply must accomplish this week.

  1. Clean up Laundry Room
  2. Clean Up Review Items
  3. Catch Up Emails and Blog Stuff

Then, I broke each item down into smaller tasks.

  1. Clean Up Laundry Room:
    1. Put away clean laundry
    2. Shelves on Back Wall
    3. Shelves Over Washer and Dryer
    4. Shelves Behind Door
    5. Organize Freezer (what needs using, etc)
    6. Wipe Appliances
    7. Sweep and Mop
  2. Clean Up Review Items:
    1. Draft Holiday Gift Guides
    2. Post Non-Guide Items
    3. Put Away “DONE” items
    4. Corral non-“DONE” items
    5. Clean up Hall Closet to contain Review Stuff
  3. Catch Up Emails, Etc:
    1. Draw, Post, Contact Spooktacular Winners
    2. Get All Emails Done
    3. Figure out Mr. Linky problem and get new one on Giveaway Tuesdays Post

That is 15 items that need completing.  I have decided that I can accomplish 40 small tasks per day.  I am hoping that doing these tasks each day will finish the above AND help me get my house et al back under control. :-)

I made my list up in Word and printed one each for Tuesday – Saturday.  I also added a few blanks at the bottom of each day just in case I think of a couple things I need to accomplish.  How does my list differ from yours?  What can you stick in the spots you don’t need?  What things do you need to do this week to get your home holiday ready?  I need to get stuff DONE so I can enjoy my holidays and not stress over the blog stuff and hidden rooms.

This is such a neat idea! I regularly make lists of things to do, but never thought of breaking it down smaller – that would be make it more manageable for me!! Thanks so much.
