Yes, I decided to take Sunday off… didn’t really feel that promoting Halloween was quite right on The Lord’s Day, so I just skipped it.
I will skip next Sunday, also. Anyway, back into our regularly scheduled program. If you have been with me since Day One (this is #4) then you know I have teamed up with Kim at Mission Mommy to bring our readers 13 Days of Spooky Fun. We will be reviewing and giving away Halloween themed products. The awesome thing is, you can visit Kim’s giveaways to earn bonus entries on mine and vice-versa. Ready?
Ahh, the many uses of baking soda! We cook with it, clean with it, scrub with it, deodorize with it, and now it is laundry detergent! This is another one of those things that isn’t considered a Halloween item, but Lisa is so creative that I don’t find myself able to pass up what she asks me about reviewing.
As with the Listerine, I can not say this better than she can.
From fake blood to chocolate stains, Halloween can really put a damper on your hamper. Be armed and ready to trick and treat Halloween stains before they hit your kids’ clothes. Arm & Hammer® has easy tips to make sure clothes and costumes get back to new – without breaking the bank at the dry cleaner:
- Chocolate stains: Milky Ways and Reese’s are great, just not on that brand new costume. Dampen the stained area with cold water and pre-treat with Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean® Liquid Laundry Detergent. Put immediately into the wash, adding detergent as directed.
- Fruit Juices: Orange you glad the stains will come out! Pre-soak the stained garment in a bucket of cold water containing ½ a scoop of Arm & Hammer® Powder Laundry Detergent or ½ a cupful of Arm & Hammer® Liquid Laundry Detergent. Wash according to care label.
- Gum: Don’t let costumes become a sticky mess! Scrape excess gum off after freezing with an ice cube. Rub stained area with Arm & Hammer Essentials® Liquid Laundry Detergent and wash with detergent in hottest water fabric will allow.
- Fake blood/make-up stains: Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean® Liquid Laundry Detergent works its magic to keep ghost white costumes white and colorful clown costumes bright! Pre-treat the stain with detergent and launder as soon as possible, adding detergent and using the warmest water the fabric will allow.
Mom Says: Wouldn’t you know, we haven’t had one single stain since this detergent arrived at my house… as soon as I use it all up, they will return, I betcha!
But, we have had a night time accident. If you have little ones, then you know that night time accidents can certainly ruin bedding! I wash and wash and wash, and nothing seems to get that stale scent out of it. This is really one of those “well, duh” things! Baking Soda! I find that the Arm & Hammer Laundry Detergent really does get rid of the smell!
To Buy: You may purchase Arm & Hammer Laundry Detergent most anywhere you can buy laundry detergent.
To Win: REQUIRED: Visit the Arm & Hammer site, look around (Jill is funny to watch, LOL!), then come back and tell me something you learned, found, or did.

Jill has the perefect persnality for this! I learned that ARM & HAMMER Total® 2-in-1 Dryer Cloths combine the softening and freshening power of a liquid fabric softener with the static prevention of a dryer sheet – and they cost up to 50% less per load than using both a liquid softener and a dryer sheet!
