CLOSED: Unilever Beauty Tip of the Day Review & Giveaway

Have you noticed that neat little Beauty Tip of The Day widget at the top of my right sidebar?  We are into another 4 weeks of beauty tips and this time, I have something for my readers!

Picture 205

Pay close attention since this giveaway will be slightly different than my others. :-)

I was sent the above goodies as a thanks for posting the Beauty Tips Widget and so I could try out some of the tips.  I keep Q-Tips in my house at ALL times, I use them for a million things:

  1. Makeup smudges. Dip a Q Tip in moisturizer or makeup remover to selectively swipe away stray mascara, liner or shadow.
  2. Belly Buttons – Clean out belly buttons (or around an umbilical cord) with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol
  3. Fingernail polish off the edges of your cuticles with nail polish remover.
  4. Apply highlighter to tricky areas like the inner corners of your eyes or your Cupid’s bow.
  5. Create smoky eyes by smudging color into the lashes with a Q-tip.
  6. Apply self-tanner inside stretch marks to hide them or other small spots you missed.
  7. Sticky Noses – if you have little ones, you have sticky boogers that will not wipe off.  Rub a Q-tip around the inside of the nose and it collects those slimy things!
  8. Faucets & Drains – Find it hard to get it clean around faucets and drains?  Q-tips!!
  9. Crevices – Dashboard, computers, televisions, etc.  I get into those tiny spots with a trusty Q-tip!
  10. Zits! – Every product says to put it directly onto the blemish, but the nozzle is much too big and you get it everywhere.  Use a Q-tip to dab clearing product directly onto pimple!

Now, I don’t have a list for it, because frankly I do not use Vaseline very often.  I use it to get gum out of hair but that is about the extent of my uses. :-)   So, how to win your own box of Unilever Beauty Products…

You may do any or ALL of the following for chances to win!

  1. Leave a comment telling me YOUR favorite Vaseline use, one comment per use- it gets tricky because duplicate uses will be removed before I determine a winner! :-) Also, remember this is a family friendly website!
  2. Leave a comment telling me YOUR favorite Q-tip use, one comment per use – it gets tricky because duplicate uses will be removed before I determine a winner! :-)
  3. Spread the word about this review by: email, forums, blogging, Digg, or putting the link in a meme. (one entry per thing done – bonus entry for blogging about it)
  4. You may tweet daily using the following tweet:

Important Information: Lots of tid-bits!

Did you notice all the posts this morning?  I had problems, lost a TON of information, and am just getting it back… thank goodness for a WONDERFUL ISP! :-)   Anyway, consequently, I have several things to address.

#1 – Happy Halloween! Are you ready for Halloween?  Unfortunately, I am not!  My Spooktacular Soiree went really well, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to get two of the posts written nor all winners drawn. :-(   I hate that because it means you girls are not going to have your wins in time for Halloween.  On the bright side, you will have them for next year. LOL!

#2 – Holiday Gift Guides – Due to the loss of information, my gift guide may not be written exactly as I had planned. :-(   I was unable to contact everyone that contacted me about being in my guides.  I am trying now to work through the millions of recovered emails (trying to figure out which ones are simply duplicates and which ones need responding to), but I might be working gift guides into December, also.  This means my November gift guides are going to be smaller than I planned… but still good! :-)

#3 – 100 Days to Christmas – I have no idea how many days we have left.  Again, loss of info and now reconstructing, etc… I am not going to be able to catch up on this, so be sure to go to the 100 Days to Christmas site to catch up.  Hopefully, I will be able to pick up where I left off a bit later.

#4 – Emails - If you have sent an email to my momof3boys3702@mchsi.com address and have not heard from me, please drop me another email!

#5 – Comments – If you had a pending comment, it has now been approved (as of last night).

I think that is it, thanks again to my wonderful readers (and companies!) for being patient while I get this all back under control. :-)

The Children’s Defense Fund – Calling out to my readers!

Cleaning out my emails (less than 500 to go EEK!) and came across this very interesting email from Momfluence:

As moms we know the power of our influence.   We influence the purchasing decisions of our friends and family, we influence our children (or at least we hope we do!), and yes, as moms we have the power to influence our government.  We have all used our voices to act as brand ambassadors for the companies we love, and now we have a chance a chance to use our voices to affect real change for the children we love.

The Children’s Defense Fund is asking moms across the country to join with other parents and children in the Champions for Children’s Health Stroller Brigade.  I am consulting with them on how to best engage moms to get the word out about this issue.  As a result of that we are activating the Momfluence network to reach out to our readers about how they can help get the message to Congress and the President that health care reform should include accessible and affordable health coverage for all children.

As with all Momfluence campaigns, we know that this may not be a fit for you, your beliefs, or your audience.  Our motto, "Rocking the cradle, shaping the world," means different things to different people.  If you would like to learn more about this campaign and how you can help, please fill out this form: http://bit.ly/mo9se

I will contact you with information on how you can help sometime in the next 24 to 36 hours. Also, this is not open to current Momfluence members only.  If you have a friend who would like to learn more about how to participate on his or her site, Facebook, etc., please direct them to the same form: http://bit.ly/mo9se

Thank you!
