I have three boys.. for the most part I do not have to fight with them about their chores…. but, we do have days where I have wished I could come up with a way to get the chores done! I was sent a Deck of Chores box for review for my blog bash and it has been super nice to use once a week or so to liven up chore time.
You can play games, etc with them to make chores a bit more fun. Not only that, but you can go online to find more neat games to play with your deck. The cards are a nice big size (5.5 by 3.75) and come in their own little flip top box.
With that said, my boys had a good time playing and it even had them racing around to see who could use all their cards first… but the amount of chores on the cards are not the greatest. Just like regular playing cards, you have 13 cards of four different suits. Each of the 13 has a different chore, but each suit has the same exact set of 13 chores. Make sense? Your Queens all have the same chore. So, in the entire box you really only have 13 chores. It doesn’t cover nearly enough chores to me, BUT when you are having those times when no one can seem to get it together, it is PERFECT to pull out.
I am glad we have them and I am sure that whomever wins their own set by playing in the bash will be glad THEY have them, but I don’t think they are the total answer to chore problems.
THEY SAY: Deck of Chores comes with custom sized cards in a durable stand up container that is fun, easy and great for families to play with.
Deck of Chores can be used as playing cards and have pictures of chores on one side.
1000’s of different games can be used by the whole family to get chores done.
Now children can either play games for chores, parents can set out which chores need to be completed or have the entire family pick a card each for their daily chore.
What a great way to have fun with the entire family
Build confidence, responsibility and organization
DECK COMES WITH 52 PLAYING CARDS WITH A CHORE ON EACH CARD

My biggest problem is stopping myself from going behind them and fixing what they have "cleaned up" and being consistant in having them do chores. It's just so much easier if I do it myself. But then they don't learn how to do them – UGH and the cycle goes on and on and on

Our biggest problem with chores is that we expect everyone to help with "whatever's needed." And while that is a good philosophy, it's hard to get into a routine when one day my husband might need to take out the trash; the next, he might need to vacuum; and the next, my daughter might need to do laundry.

My biggest problem is finding a chore for them that they can handle. It seems like I give them the same job over and over – I need to liven it up – I would love to win this!

mine is getting my kids to get do it instead of complaing haha
My biggest problem with chores is deciding what is appropriate for their age. I want them to help and learn they need to work, but sometimes I end up doing it all for them while they watch.

My biggest problem is trying to make it 'fair'. I get the whining of 'I did that last time' or 'her job is easier' and blah blah blah. We thought about a chore jar but this just seems cooler!
My biggest problem is letting them do them their own way. I always want to step in and show the my way of getting it done.

I think your biggest chore problem is a lot like my biggest chore problem… deciding what to "delegate" to the kids and then not going behind them and re-doing it.
